I've had a self-installed cctv system in my house for the past 5 years, first starting out with an off the shelf Swann system, then mix-and-matching Swann and Zmodo components, and now I'm using a custom build DVR and have been trying out a multitude of cameras to find the best.This camera wins, hands down. I bought one for trial but have already bought 4 more.The build quality is excellent. Solid, white metal with nice understated styling. It feels quality in your hand - nothing is wobbly or feels cheap.Plenty of mounting options - in most locations I've run the cctv cable through the drywall and out behind the camera, so it mounts flush and seamless with the ceiling - no wires showing. In other cases where that wasn't possible, there are cut-outs on the mounting ring to pass the cable through.Camera swivels within the mounting bracket - huge variety of angles are possible, as is mounting horizontally (as in, on a ceiling) or vertically (on a wall).Picture quality is fantastic. An order of magnitude better than a bundled Swann or Zmodo camera. I was amazed when I first plugged it in, and am still impressed each time I compare to my other cameras.The OSD menu provides a ton of choices, but even on defaults the picture is flawless.There is an externally accessible mechanical focus screw which I've used on one occasion - it's very sensitive and doesn't require much alteration. I have not tried the similar screw to adjust zoom.So far, all my units are mounted inside. The manual says to keep away from water and moisture, which conflicts with the amazon listing. I am going to mount one outside to see what happens, but am also going to run some silicone caulk round the joins in the body and where the cable enters the unit. Florida weather will be the ultimate test!I cannot comment on durability over time, as I have had these units for less than a month, but will update my review if anything changes.

I purchased five of these cameras and they have been up for about a week now. I debated between three or four stars because of the five I ordered as "new", one of them was obviously used, returned, had signs of wear and defective. Another review had a similar experience. I went with four stars just based on the camera performance and not the DOA issue I had with one of them. I replace my two year old Swann cameras with these and for the money, they are a good buy.Pros:+ Good, sharp wide angle image+ Low light, night IR image is good+ Focus and zoom controls work well+ Solid feel and appears well built+ Good length of cable+ Appears to be sealed very well against weather / moistureCons:- Had a hard time getting the pieces apart to mount- Not easy to precisely position the camera with the ball style mount- Hard to read the OSD menu- Would be nice if it came in black, my house is a dark color and these really stand out from a color perspective- No lens hood to protect against direct sunlight when the sun is low on the horizon early or late day- Included mounting screws easily stripped, had to use alternate screws to mount housing

Excellent Product! I recently purchased three of these cameras and began installing them as addition, and WOW! They are absolutely remarkable! They are so good, that they will be replacing all the original cameras that came with the 16 camera HD system. In both daylight and nighttime (infrared) modes, the picture quality is crystal clear. Just to make a point, during the installation, I left the plastic film in place until I completed all adjustments, My wife yelled out, "baby, this is awesome!" When I told her that the film was still on the lens, she yelled out "DAMN!" (She gave me a good laugh)! I certainly love these cameras--for one-the price; two-functionality; and three-the manufacture. It is a well made product and right now I am happy with it. The installation/user's guide is quite hilarious (obviously written in China where the product was made). As a new product, I cannot comment on its durability/shelf life, but I have no issues with giving this camera five stars. Get it while they are available.Update--November 17, 2016.Now that I've been using this product for almost a year, I still stand by my previous statement. The image quality is still absolutely amazing. I am adding more to replace the ones that came with the original kit. I am also looking for a complimentary Evertech pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) camera to add to my system. For anyone reading this post, please let me know if you come across the PTZ cam, please let me know via a response to this posting. Thank you.

My experience with the 3 camera was excellent day light. The night vision has a glare that resembles whatWould happen if you did not remove the lense protecting covering that was previous use on former cameras.There is none on these units. Double cleaned each lense but problem persists. I AM SATIFIED with camera operationAnd can get used to the annoyance. These are mounted under eves so oh ave some over overhead reflection.

This is a good quality camera. That said, they are not immune to problems associated with most electronic equipment, hence the need for good return policy. Only needed one for the job but decided to buy another just in case. Glad I did as the first one was having problems with lack of color under ambient lighting conditions. 2nd camera worked fine and had good color under same lighting as seen in pics. Although I have a high degree of confidence in Evertech products and company return policy, will continue to buy at least one extra item any time I'm ordering any product for any job, especially if doing so saves me time, gas and money. BTW, first camera was returned with credit applied promptly. Again, this is a very good quality camera with a very clear image/resolution for this price point. Would/will definitely buy again.
