Norpro 7657 12-Inch Bamboo Spoon

Not very sturdy

I like this spoon and would like to give it all 5 stars, but there’s a whitish discoloration on the spoon (it was very pretty before that), and I only used it a few times and never put it in the dishwasher. I’ll still use it, but I am sort of disappointed.

I bought the spoon and spatula, I like that they are flat not bulky, and seem sturdy and feel good in the hand. I've cooked in commercial kitchens and at home, and used a lot of wood spoons. Why on earth did they put the hook hole 1 inch below top of handle? It simply won't fit on most semi-circle hooks! I took a wood saw and cut 1/2 inch off top and rounded of edges with a rasp, these items were to inexpensive to return. The main reason I bought these items is because my most used utensils are on hooks.

It's nice except for that hole in the handle. Sure, some people wanna hang up their spoons, but most people just keep it in a drawer. The hole is just annoying tp look at. If you're annoyed like I am, just line flat surface with a bit of parchment or wax paper or aluminum foil and fill it with hot glue and let it dry. Then, file the hot glue smooth and boom you've plugged it.

I've used this brand of wooden spoons for years and they held up amazingly, so I was thrilled to be able to replace the one that finally broke. I don't know if the quality is gone downhill or if it was just damaged in transit, but after washing it for the first time in the dishwasher, a giant chunk of the wood came off the bowl of the spoon and it was unusable. I know it is recommended to hand wash them, but I have been using the dishwasher for these spoons for years without any problem, so I did not expect any different with this one. If I hadn't already thrown out the packaging, I would have returned it for a replacement.

The spoon seems pretty nice, but I am still struggling to get the stickiness from the sticker off the handle, I will update the review when the stickiness is completely gone. It will be a great spoon when that is the case

Nice, simple wooden spoon. Was expecting tags on them like if you purchase in a brick and mortar store; instead there is a sticker with the description and the words new item.
