About the Author Sarina Bowen writes steamy, angsty contemporary romance from Vermont's Green Mountains. (Her ancestors began logging and farming Vermont during the 18th century. These were rugged, outdoor types without benefit of a laptop or a good latte. It boggles the mind.) Sarina enjoys skiing, skating and good food. She lives in Windsor County, Vermont, with her family, eight chickens and too much ski gear and hockey equipment. You can visit her at www.sarinabowen.com to sign up for her newsletter. “Ohfudgeohfudgeohfudge”
I loved loved loved HIM. So good I read once, twice (then read the sequels US and GOOD BOY) thrice and will undoubtedly read again. The story of Wes and Jamie is beautiful, honest and above all so very hot, their friendship having began when they met as thirteen year old budding hockey players at the camp school they attended every summer. Jamie moved me from the outset with his sheer enjoyment of the innocent boyhood friendship he shared with his BFF unaware that Wes was battling his own sexuality and developing decidedly non platonic feelings towards him culminating in the night that led to Wes disappearing from his life for the next four years. The story begins when they meet again by chance four years later, Wes about to sign up for a major league team and Jamie for another but with a less certain future. I love that the POV alternated between the two as they reconnected. I can only urge anyone with romance in their soul to read HIM and US. These books are keepers.

Consuming, empowering, honest, and hotter than hell! 5 Stars
I was on the fence for so long because I will be the first to hold my hand up and say that M/M has never really done anything for me in the past. However, two very good author friends told me nearly a year ago that I had to read this book and after some deliberation, I finally jumped in! Alas, I'm converted because my reservations have been silenced with this book.Jamie and Wes' story was consuming, empowering, honest, and hotter than hell! Holy hockey pucks and purple skittles did I fall head over heels in love with this love story.Wes was always aware of his sexual orientation from a young age, and his battle to keep his true feelings hidden from his best friend was honourable and I loved him for it.Jamie has never had to work hard for female attention but when one drunken night presents an opportunity to experiment he doesn't shy away from his best friend, and from that moment on questions and confusion rears its head for Jamie, but what was so pleasurable about this read was there was no disgust by any of it, just a quiet, almost diplomatic realisation of personal self awareness that was embraced with sympathetic maturity on a scale that isn't often seen in 'fictional' life changing circumstances.Witnessing these two talented and beautiful young men manifest into more was a really beautiful reading experience that made me want to bitch slap myself for not delving in sooner.US is the sequel and I can't wait to get back on the rink with these boys to see what happens next.

Wow!
Like a lot of others I have had this book on my TBR for some time, not sure if this was a genre that I would enjoy........well I more than enjoyed, I absolutely loved this read. I must admit reading this has cleared a few, can I say curiosities about M/M interactions!!I loved reading about how they both felt, my heart really hurt for them, especially Wes. I loved just how much they loved and the sexy times were so hot! I laughed and I cried and all I can say is if you are unsure as I was, give it a go, you will not be disappointed and this read may even enlighten you x

5 Wes and Jamie Stars
I read this book having not read an M/M story before. M/M/F? Yes, a few times & they were ok, but I thought I would try this because it is written by two of my favourite authors. Also, I read Good Boy , which is the spin off series and starts with Jamie's sister Jess. That was a fabulous read and I loved seeing snippets of Wes and Jamie in that one. My curiosity won and I found myself delving into the story of two guys who are so perfect together. And I adored them both.Wes has loved Jamie since they were 13. Now they are 22. Wes is heading for the fame and fortune of playing hockey in the NHL. Jamie is deliberating between professional hockey or coaching. They haven't seen each other for 4 years- something happened and Jamie was left wondering what he did to push his best friend away. Now they are back in the same circle and things are about to start simmering in the heat of the Summer. The character development is superb. The story is addictive. Two brilliant authors have pulled together to create an absolutely beautiful love story. I loved Wes and Jamie equally but I think my heart hurt for Wes a little bit more. Jamie has a fantastic family and Wes just seems to have struggled on his own.The chemistry between them is electric. The love is tender. Perfect.HEA? Yes- and leads nicely into the next book.Cheating? No.

A true love story
I read this book with trepidation as I have never read any M/M romance before. WOW! I loved it. This story had a great background where two boys would meet every summer at a hockey camp. One falls in love with the other but he is unable to say how he felt. So, he did what every immature 18 year old would do, he just 'ghosted' him. Fast forward 4 years later and they meet again at a college hockey competition. There was something very refreshing about this story and I loved the sequel too. It's also very good to listen to on audible. Definitely one of my favourite books.

Loved, loved, loved!
6 stars if I could, I adored this book!Ryan and Jamie were great to read and follow, both boys were a pleasure to read. Ryan's antics were amusing and I love a cheeky character. Jamie was sweet but also had a backbone which was great. The plot itself, whilst not super complicated, kept me engaged and interested. I don't watch or follow ice hockey but it didn't matter, it was easy to follow and I was cheering them both on.Chemistry wise the boys were hot! I don't normally like friends-to-lovers so much but this just ticked all the boxes. The sex scenes were hot and didn't feel taxing to get through like other books in the genre. Their connection really shined.110% recommend, pick it up! If you read het romance I also recommend The Deal by Kennedy as that was brill as well.
