LaserMaxCenterFire Laser (Red) CF-SHIELD For Use With Smith & Wesson M&P Shield

Excellent design, fit and finish. I read a few reviews where it was noted a few rough spots during the molding process - they have either corrected this in manufacture or I got a unit that did not have this issue.Easy to install and easy to make any necessary adjustments. The 'Laser' label to conform to safety regulations comes with the unit, it is not attached anywhere. Instructions state it is supposed to be affixed to the unit...but where? It does not fit anyplace on the laser itself, I guess it is just to fulfill the requirements by providing it. I keep it in the range pouch that I keep the pistol in when going to the range. For carry, I do not...I know what it is and if I have to use it, well the other person will know what it is as well.Outside sunlight does impact the range at which the dot is visible, any kind of shadow or not direct sun and the dot is visible, direct sun and it becomes invisible though at short distance at about 30 feet it is fine.I keep this in a snug OWB holster for concealed carry on the weapon and it does not engage the one switch, the placement and size of the ambidextrous on / off switch is excellent, easy for your finger to find it, yet not sticking out so far as to become an obstruction.I had to adjust the sight to my left after installation, a comment others have made as well, it is easy and quick to do, no problems. After 100 rounds through the barrel it is still spot on (no pun) - as with any weapon and accessory you should check it out for proper operation before needed.I do not have enough "on" time to give an accurate estimation on how long the batteries will last, so far so good.Go with a veridian green model if you feel you need this in direct sunlight, for me I do not give that much consideration as this is my up close and personal backup weapon where if I am using it, I am going to be, well up close anyway.

I bought the Laser Max CF-SHIELD laser about 2 months ago and have not run into any issues so far. It was delivered quickly, is easy to install, and of high quality (especially when you take the cheap price).When doing my research before buying, I read where a couple of customers had a complaint with the way the trigger guard rubbed their middle finger after installing the laser. Well, the laser mounts to the gun by basically clamping to the existing trigger guard and that causes the guard to become a little more thick. That really wouldnt be a problem as long as the material is smooth to the touch so that it doesnt rub your middle finger raw while shooting. And the complaint I read about a few times stated the material wasnt smooth enough and caused their finger to rub raw. Well, I noticed that this would become an issue for me as well after I installed the laser. But, all I had to do to fix this was grab a small piece of fine sandpaper and smooth out the material on the bottom of the trigger guard until there wasn't any rubbing I had to worry about hurting my finger.The style matches the gun almost flawlessly and the on/off buttons (it's ambidextrous even though the shield isn't) have a good feel, are located nicely, and hasn't shown any flaws yet.The laser was pretty easy to sight in and has stayed true after sighting in and putting around 500 rounds through the gun. It is really bright in the dark and inside in the range but, isn't highly visible out in the sunlight. But that is really an issue with most all red laser lights. I'd love to see this with a green laser and would buy it right now if one was available. Green is just much more visible than red in the sunlight but, this red laser will get the job done in 99% of the shooting you'll be doing. And really, if you have the bad luck to have to use your gun to protect yourself out in the open on a sunny day, the distance that the laser is visible is most likely further than the distance you're truely accurate enough to hit the intended target with this short barrel gun. So, I'm not too concerned about the red color of the laser and am happy with it even though I'd prefer to have a green one.But overall, I really couldnt be happier with my purchase.-got here fast-was easy to install-feels great after the light sanding-matches the original style of the gun-is plenty bright enough for 99% of the shooting you'll need it for-it's easy to sight-and stays true.So, what more could you really ask for? (Other than it being a green laser. Lol)

It fits snugly and installs easily. I have very large fingers and I noted a fine edge is left over from manufacture all around the edge of the injection molded part. Spent a few minutes to rework the edge. I used a fingernail fine abrasive file to knock down the residual edges along the perimeter of the mating parts. Not too aggressive, just to break the edge. After this, it is quite smooth all around and I am happy with the feel. It was very easy to adjust and feels quite sturdy.UPDATE: The Lasermax at 20 yards is dead on. Very nice for the price.

Fits great and looks like it is straight from the factory. Very easy to install and the on/off button is in a nice natural position. Also it is a great value compared to many other lasers. And with this short barrel on the S&W Shield 9mm, it is helpful to have this as an option. My only complaint, and the reason I did not give 5 stars is that you need to use a very small allen wrench to adjust the location of the laser. I'd prefer if there was a small knob type of dial to make those adjustments quicker on the fly. Otherwise, I would still recommend this product.

This sight arrived several days early much to my surprise and delight. Opened the package and attached it to a Shield. Took about 5 minutes and everything fit perfectly. No surprises at all other than how well this LaserMax matches the Shield's finish. A couple of quick clicks of the drift to the left and it was right on target. The red dot sits exactly on top of the front sight when it is aimed. I am very pleased with this product. The laser dot is very bright and easy to track. When the weather is better I will take it to the range and try it out. Based upon what I have seen so far I have no doubt that it will function as advertised. Recommend do buy this one. I looked at this one for months before I bought it. Don't be me! Its worth the price which was incredible also.
