This smoke alarm was bought following online advice from the company who make them. I already had 2 of their alarms in the house and needed one to put in our lounge (+ a heat alarm in our kitchen). This alarm is battery powered and should last 10 years. It has a radiolink module within it, which has its own battery. It might mean replacing one of the components (module or alarm into which it is installed) before the other. Time will tell. My extended system means that if one alarm sounds then they ALL sound. This is to follow new regulations coming into effect in Scotland in February 2022. In England similar regulations are already effective I believe. Follow the instructions in the booklets provided regarding positioning and orientation of the alarm and drill holes to take the plastic plugs (provided). If a plasterboard ceiling I would suggest using a slightly smaller drill than the 5mm one they suggest. Perhaps 4.8mm. Then push the plugs in and screw the base plate on using the 2 screws (also supplied). House code the alarm following the instructions and twist the alarm onto the base plate. Test that the system works and all alarms sound and that is it - apart from regular testing of course. I would highly recommend this company's products. They have a wide number of models, so check what you need to follow your country's regulations. Going onto their website and having a live chat meant I could find out quickly what I needed, as there are various series of alarms which are made for varying circumstances, and could bamboozle you as to what you really need. Lots of other brands are available. They may be cheaper, but I have had 18 years experience of having aico brand alarms in my house with no problems. Overall keep you and your family safe with reliable products such as these.

Easily installed and linked to existing detectors

Arrived promptly and exactly what I needed.Yes the instructions are in German, however a quick search to the Aico website and the instructions were downloaded.

Triggered every day for no reason

DON'T buy unless you understand German as the instructions are only in German. For this reason I have been unable to use these to date. I think it is unfair to sell these on Amazon.co.uk (the British site) without mentioning this point anywhere on the product description.

It looks like a refunded or second hand product

Die Rauchmelder sind absolut top. Wir haben bereits 15 im Haus installiert, einige davon funkvernetzt. Wir mussten nun zwei weitere Räume damit ausstatten. Die Installation war leicht und nach einem kurzen Anruf bei der Herstellerhotline war auch die Funkvernetzung (Einbindung ins bestehende Netz) kein Problem. Absolute Kaufempfehlung. Top Produkt, super Qualität.

top geräte. installation einfach. testmodus erfolgreich absolviert. einen etwaigen fehlalarm im ganzen haus können wir nun per knopfdruck beenden. aber die hoffnung besteht, dass wir gar keinen fehlalarm mehr bekommen. die teuren alten waren diesbezüglich eine katastrophe. die neuen erscheinen tiptop!

Gute Rauchmelder, Funkverbindung einfach zu installieren.

Ich verbaue diese Rauchmelder schon seit Jahren in unserem Haus. Mittlerweile 12x Rauchmelder / 2x CO2-Melder und 1x Hitzemelder. Sie arbeiteten bisher ohne einen einzigen Fehlalarm. Wenn Alarm, dann auch mit Grund (offener Räucherofen/Qualm vom Kaminofen zur Decke hin). Tolles Produkt!

Das Anbringen und die Installation/Vernetzung der 9 Rauchmelder war wirklich simble. Es liegt eine Anleitung bei.Die Rauchmelder werden nun die Bewohner in 2 Gebäuden für 10 Jahre schützen. Die 2 Gebäude stehen nahe beieinander. Die Vernetzung war kein Problem.
