One of the best comedies!
What a good, funny, well acted, well directed romantic comedy! The plot it's not predictable, well...to a point. But Catherine is magnificent, funny and....so beautiful!I know we'll watch it again soon!

good script, good acting...and Catherine Deneuve looked, as always, beautiful. What more do you want?

Super film, great story, great characters
I watched the first ten minutes and almost turned it off, and I'm so glad I didn't. Catherine's character is a bit of a tool in the first part of the movie, but so much so that she actually grew on me (no, not just because she's hot :p) It was a great story acted well, and, given the amount of time that has passed since it was made, still super fresh.

you'll find it cute if you can wait until the ending
First of all I hate when Amazon puts "2008" for example on a movie. This movie was a 1975 movie, not 2008.Anyway at first I thought I had made a mistake watching this. Exaggerated movements. Melodramatic. Stupid Three Stooges "comedy". But then the movie made a surprise twist. It revealed a plot. An interesting one. I think you were supposed to be satisfies with a beautiful thin deneuve (although it didn't look like her) and the sexy male characters to worry about where you were headed in the plot.

swank fun, 70's style
I enjoyed this movie, notwithstanding the implausible plot and 'politically incorrect' cliche's so common in films of the period. The young Catherine Deneuve is as spectacular as ever, and believable as a desperate and mysterious young woman fleeing a disastrous marriage. Yves Montand plays the calm and cool Humphrey Bogart role in high French style: he is reflective, mature, and sensible (perhaps too much so) to Deneuve's frenetic scheming and mischief. Despite the tired boy-meets-girl plot, these two great actors - both at the top of their game - are too gorgeous and convincing to look away from for long, as is the rare footage of both urban and wild Venezuela.

What in the world is this?
Without Catherine and Ives it would have been a total disaster.
