I love duochrome paints. They are part of what makes painting fun for me. I saw this set and knew I had to have it.HOW THIS COMESThis set comes with the jars laying on their sides inside a bubble wrap sleeve in a cardboard box.SEALSThe jars have a screw on lid, but inside they are sealed with foil.IMPORTANT OPENING INSTRUCTIONSI was really frustrated when trying to open these. No matter what I tried, prying open, poking open- the paint was oozing out of the top so fast I could not stop it. It was upsetting and a mess.I finally figured out how to open these so you can avoid the awful mess I had to cope with.1. Slam jar down on firm table top surface.2. Gently pat down (but firmly) the foil seal before opening to loosen paint from it3. Slam down jar a few times more prior to opening.4. Carefully pry off one edge slowly and remove seal.Most of the time if you do it this way,, it won't ooze out. Believe me, it is better this way. The oozing was awful and got all over everything quickly before I could stop it.COLORSThe colors are beautiful. They look one way straight on and then from different angles they either glow with a metallic glow of the base color, or have a color shift to another color.COVERAGEThis, like most acrylic paints, requires several coats to make it cover the surface where it does not look uneven.QUALITYThis is pretty nice paint, although the jar and opening problem really took away from my joy.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is a pretty nice set of colors. The paint quality is pretty good, but the jar seal can really be a problem if you are not careful.MY RATINGFOUR STARS. I took a star off for the oozing problem. There has to be a better way to seal these so they don't do that, but if you follow my instructions, you stand a better chance at avoiding it than if you just try to open them.PHOTOThe photo swatches I took for you have a single layer only on them.

The colors you can choose from sets to singles, you can’t go wrong. They have textured and other finishes they come in. They are very versatile to use on many’s things. I’m mostly into resin, so the paint makes tumblers pop with colors!

Beautiful colors, definitely can use as a shimmering glaze over the top of or as background for painting.

Best pigment ever. Tried so many other brands. This paint is the best.

First off , my photos do not do this paint justice. It’s much prettier and so sparkly and iridescent in real life .The colors I chose are various shades of purples, blues ,pinkish and a sort of grayish purple . My favorite is pigeon purple . Who doesn’t need some pigeon purple paint ! It makes me smile just typing the name LOL!This is a set of six and the jars are of a decent size, 2 ounces . Seems like plenty of paint in each jar .I needed to touch up the paint on my fairy house stump and that wood is OLD and porous and rough.I didn’t have any trouble getting decent coverage with one coat , but I think I’ll give one more to get and even brighter glittery affect. I was due rain within hours of painting so stopped at one coat. Luckily it did dry pretty quickly.Then I tried the paint on a piece of canvas paper and it worked quite well. I was painting over black and that’s sometimes kind of hard to do , but the affect was satisfactory .To show the true iridescence , I also applied some of the paint to basic sheet of paper . One can see how nicely it blends . I really do need to paint a picture of a pigeon because the iridescence of these paints would be beautiful to highlight feathers .It is soap and water cleanup . I suggest doing that pretty quickly because it sticks pretty permanently once it’s dried .I’m very pleased with this set of paints. The quality is very good. It’s beautiful. It can be used on various surfaces . So an all around good product!
