It took me about a week to get used to sleeping on my side with a more raised pillow than what I'm used to. I'm not much of a back sleeper, but it still feels good to lay in bed an extra 5-10 min in the center position to stretch out my neck muscles before getting out of bed. The ear holes seemed hokey at first, but given the hardness of the rest of the side-laying pillow, I'm very grateful that they are there. Speaking of the hardness, it means my head has constant support when laying on my side versus my previous regular pillow. I would fluff it up, and that would help for a moment, but the fluff would always go out and my neck would torque. This pillow does as it promises, providing a firm yet comfortable shelf for your head when side sleeping. I will be taking my pillow with me on vacation in a couple of weeks.

Great for BACK SLEEPERS, but it did not work at all for when I wanted to switch to my side. The cervical support on this pillow is fantastic. Best I have tried. I have a straight C-Spine and need a lot of neck support and this helped a lot. But I am both a back and side sleeper so when I switched to my side I was very uncomfortable . So uncomfortable that I had to switch back to my old pillow. If you are a back sleep and need cervical support this is a great pillow for you, but...at least for me...this is not a side sleeper pillow.A little about this pillow: - It is extremely firm, which is great for cervical support - The bottom of the pillow is almost hard so it will not work if you sleep on your arm underneath the pillow - The height of the pillow is short, I am only 5.5 and I felt the height for side sleeping was too low to offer appropriate support - The sides of the pillow with the "ear holes" are too narrow to be comfortable. IMO, could work for others - The cervical support is amazing, not like the standard "neck roll" support but a more structured custom support - The pillow actually cradles your head while offering great neck support, while on my back I slept very soundly!! - This is the best feature!

I bought this off the kickstarter program as I'm a side sleeper and kept getting really bad neck and shoulder pain. I echo what others have said that this is a great pillow for back sleepers but not the best for side sleepers. I will say that I do toss and turn a little at night so it would wake me up a little more than usual to have to readjust and get my ear in the correct spot. But it was just not comfortable on my ear. My ear would always hurt when I wake up. So this is not for me for every day use. I will break it out on occasion if my neck starts hurting again as it will help that after a night or two. But I go back to the side sleeping pillow I got at BBB for the rest of the time.

As much as I would like to love this pillow it was no “good” for me. Here are some of it’s turn offs.1. The pillow was designed to provide neck support based on the neck’s normal anatomy. However, head movement was very restricted. When you lie in a supine position, the head lands in this hallow portion as the neck is supported. But any slight head movement (left/right) causes discomfort especially on the neck. So I always end up readjusting the pillow. I feel that this was design for you to sleep facing up the ceiling because there is hardly any space for your head to move.2. Sleeping on the side was also difficult, although it has a hallow portion to allow your head and ears to rest. I still have to reposition the pillow, it doesn’t allow you to sleep on your side.3. It’s very stiff. For some this might workbut for me it’s definitely a turn off.4. Its heavy. I tried putting it on my lap and I can feel the weight of the pillow. It may not matter to some but it does have a disadvantage.5. There is support but with no comfort. The constant adjustments to find a “balance” on head and neck support and free easy movement was a struggle. I personally feel that a pillow should both have that.So in the end, I’m still using it but its for my feet not my head.

Wonderful firm support! Not PERFECT FOR ME, but the very best I have tried and I have tried all I could find to support my neck. I have had chronic neck and shoulder pain and migraines as well as tension headaches. Spent most of my extra money on massage, chiropractic and pillows and other gadgets for decades. I think I need more firm and higher neck support so if you ever make a larger size or firmer one, I will buy immediately. Otherwise I will keep reordering as this is the very best I have found.

I was skeptical at first but now I have two of them. One for me and one for the Lady. It's a little awkward at first but after a couple days you start to notice your neck and back feeling more relaxed. I won't go back to a regular pillow. Biggest downside is that normal pillow cases have a lot of extra material and I haven't found a good pillow case to fit the form of this. However, that's a small price to pay for how good you feel.

While still not the perfect pillow, it's the best I've had in a very long time. The material is slightly firmer than I'd like but the support is awesome. I need to sleep on my back. The problem has been in finding a pillow that's comfortable and has good support. And, for the record, this pillow does retain a faint odor from the foam. I have MCS but the odor so far has not exacerbated it. The pillow cover masks it very well. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase, especially after purchasing, trying and throwing out almost $200 worth of pillows in the last month.
