Hauppauge Wintv Nova-Hd-Usb2 Satellite

Supplied with two pin power supply which is useless for the UK. Had to spend more money for it to work.

I bought this item from Amazon about a week ago. It was very well packed but unfortunatly all the instructions were in German.Don't let that put you off thogh, just pop the cd into your drive then follow the on screen instructions. It took me about an hour to install it and boy was I pleased with the results. I live nr Dover with a very strong signal and was able to pull in 728 TV/Radio stations including some HD channels. Timer recording is easy and accurate and it has PIP too. Overall, a very impressive piece of kit. Well pleased.

External wall mounted satellite dish, no TV problems with Freesat.However, Windows Media Centre (W7 64 bit) regularly loses the signal, often in the middle of a recording, and then cannot see the tuner again until it is disconnected and reconnected to the USB port.The unit has been returned twice to Hauppauge UK who find nothing wrong with it.I have the latest driver, and I have re-installed Windows, to no avail.I suppose it might work ok with the Hauppauge WinTV software, but this does not have EPG future programmes capability, only now and next!

I received the Device minus the power unit. A call to the Hauppague UK office and one was sent without questions. It was my intension to use this item for my Campervan and portable Sat. Dish using a sat finder meter but the lack of a manual before purchase meant that I was buying the wrong item. Having installed the Win TVand Win7 (update) I could not get it to work. I needed the 13v - 18v dc to power the LMB and the sat finder to enable the dish set up. After several calls to the H.O. I finally told this item does not output this voltage until after the EPG setup and then when a signal is demanded on Live TV. I was advised that it will only work on a pre-installed and aligned dish.This item would welcome the information as to how it operates such as you must have a pre-installed Sat Dish properly aligned to the required satellite. I noted that the "power" button on the remote did not power "On" or "off" the unit and the red LED can only just be seen. I then changed to the house Sat Dish; followed the instruction (in English) to the Digital DVB S setup, Selected the required satellite for which the sat dish is aligned, next to "Digital DVB Scan" and then wait until it has searched for all available signals. With the Win7 v7 on the screen click the left configuration button and follow instructions. Right click inside the Win7 window and select Live TV. Repeat and right click selecting Find channel. This brings a drop down list giving the available TV channels. Scroll and select the desired channel, a pause and you should have the TV channel on screen with a very good picture and sound.Had this device had a method to allow portable dish alignment it would be a perfect device for Caravans, boats motorised campervans etc.
