Great plates!
I love the idea of compostable plates! I like having paper plates around because they are easy for days I'm overworked or just don't feel like doing dishes. They make clean up easy! However, I hate feeling wasteful putting all those disposable plates in the trash! Now I won't feel so bad! Whether I compost them myself or know that they are going to break down quickly in a landfill, my mind will be at ease. The plates themselves are pretty sturdy. Nothing leaks through, not even greasy foods. I'd definitely recommend them!

These are pulpy in appearance.
This 7-inch plate is perfect for sandwiches or desserts. But the plates do measure an 1/8 inch short of 7 inches. I do like the texture on the bottom that give a little grip to the plate and is very sturdy. These are good compostable plates that hold their form well. Good buy!

Smaller than expected but still very much usable
The Reli. Compostable Paper Plates, 7 Inch (250 Pack Bulk) was overall a good purchase. The plates are a bit better quality than typical paper plates. These brown ones seem a bit sturdier and less likely to leak than others. They are quite small, but we still use them for small meals.Would recommend.

Pretty cool
I sometimes enjoy the convenience of disposable plates and dishes, but I hate the thought of all that plastic going into our local landfill. These plates are compostable, so I don't have to feel so guilty!! They look fine and seem to be plenty sturdy. And they can go straight into our composter after a meal (or, at least, will break down quickly in the landfill). Nice!

Comparison
The media could not be loaded. I compared these to some name brand heavy paper plates which I think work very well and which I get at my warehouse store for around seven cents a plate, not on sale. These plates are ten cents a plate, almost 50% more. These plates are the same diameter, but the flat usable area of plate is smaller because the lip on these are wider. I think these plates would hold about the same weight as other plates, or at least hold the food in plate sufficiently. For my money, I would buy the other plates for the reliability factor alone, besides the good deal I can get on them. However, I can see that these ‘biodegradable’ of these plates is a feature which would make a statement for some users.

Sturdy paper plate holds up even when wet
These paper plates are small heavy duty plates that hold up well and don't fall apart when wet. They are useful for appetizers or dessert but are not big enough to be dinner plates. While they are rather drab looking, they are very functional and easy to hold with a wide lip on the margins. They stack well too. They are good for picnics and parties and family get togethers, but I would not use them at formal affairs, such as a wedding reception again due to their plain appearance.

Reli. Compostable Paper Plates, 7 Inch (250 Pack Bulk), nice solid quality product.
7 Inch Brown-Natural, Bagasse-Sugarcane Fiber, 250 Pack Bulk, Microwave Safe and Eco Friendly. The round disposable plates are made of commercially composable-biodegradable sugar cane fibers. A convenient choice for an easy clean up. Safely stores hot & cold food items for to-go orders, food trucks, events, hosting & more. These plates are remarkably heavy duty. The compostable plates are leak-resistant with superior strength compared to traditional paper plates. This is a good quality product, and I give it a 5-stars rating.

Oils don't seep through
Heavy duty dessert or sandwich plates are made well and sturdy enough for a heavier piece of food. I made a thick grilled cheese that was buttered on the outside of the bread and fried in a little bit of oil. I transported the sandwich to the table holding the outer rim with my fingers instead of placing my whole hand underneath for support and I didn't have any problems with flimsiness of the plate at all. Also, as you can see from my photos, even with the butter and the oil on the sandwich it didn't seep through the plate at all. Highly recommend this brand of disposable, compostable 7" plates!
