I really like the 5X magnification and very lighweight. It's not that easy to hold if you are reading a book and trying to turn pages as the 6 x 9 frame gets in the way. It's can be a good thing too as you can get a whole page on at a time if you hold it right. I got for my Mom in her 90's and still likes to read, but her books are mainly paperback so her thougt was she wished there was a way to hang around her neck and have both hands for her book. Good idea I think. The light is great though and very adjustable with just a move of the dial. Holds a charge for a long time.

I've hit that age where I need reading glasses and sometimes that doesn't even work, especially with books. And while I've mostly shifted reading to my Kindle, truth is, I still have books in my collection I enjoy. Not to mention certain mail, fliers, and the like. While taking a picture and blowing it up larger helps, who's going to read a book like that? I've gotten a couple magnifiers over the years, but they are either round or rectangular and do NOT show enough of a page to read - meaning you have to keep moving it and that gets annoying and tiring...So when I had the chance to grab this 5X Rechargeable Large Magnifying Glass I took it and I am glad I did. So far it is working like a gem. But full honesty, I have not yet read a book with it, so this is based on a more testing state of use, for little time. But I am happy with the choice.This 5X Rechargeable Large Magnifying Glass set comes with the cleaning wipe cloth, instructions, and plug for charging. It arrived charged so I was able to use it out of the box. The lens itself is this weird... pattern look, so I wondered if it would live up to the "clarity" of my smaller ones. It is as good or better. I try to show this "pattern" in a couple photos - makes me think it's about the size and making things work, but my non-engineering brain is only guessing. Whatever it is, it works.The lights completely surround the glass so you have full coverage. It looks great. And it works. One thing I find with the addition of light(s) is that it makes seeing much easier for me, so this surrounding light source works well for me. It is easy to turn on and off and adjust by the dial on the edge. Again I attempt to show this in a picture. I also attempt to show how clearly this 5X Rechargeable Large Magnifying Glass works int he last photo. This was set with the magnifier several inches from the book and you are seeing what I saw through it. You'll have to trust me on how small the letting looks without it. But a page I would have needed my reading glasses for I read easily with this 5X Rechargeable Large Magnifying Glass.As for the weight, this is a decent weight. I was actually surprised by how light this large 5X Rechargeable Large Magnifying Glass really is. Will it get tiring over time? I don't know, but based on the few minutes I held it, I feel that with proper support to my arm I'll be okay with a longer amount of time. I have gotten one of those hold-the-book-open devices that you prop on one finger or thumb to hold open a book, so I believe between the one hand holding the book - with that device - and the other holding this, I'll do alright. I also feel like - but did not test - one could switch hands back and forth between holding this 5X Rechargeable Large Magnifying Glass and the book.In the end I feel like it'll be a good one. That it'll give me the view I need for reading any number of items, as well as the enjoyment of reading a 'real' book again. I'm (so far) very happy.

This magnifier is a lightweight, plastic, fresnel lens type. The kind with grooves. It is very clear even though it’s plastic. The lights are LEDS around the entire frame and are powered by a rechargeable battery charged by USB-C. The switch is a wheel type, so you can adjust the brightness as needed. There is no stand or holder or handle. You just hold it by the frame. It is very lightweight.It works really well for reading a magazine or my mail or a page of instructions. I find it a little awkward for reading a paperback, though, because you have to hold the book open with one hand and hold the magnifier at just the right distance and angle with the other. One of my hands is weak with poor dexterity, so I struggle with two handed activities. This is why I gave five stars for “light weight” and “brightness”, but only four stars for “easy to hold”.I would also like to see this paired with a fabric bag to protect it when not in use, to keep the grooved plastic clean and protected from scratches. I won’t downgrade them for lacking this, since none of the other vendors include this either. Just making a suggestion. I will have to sew my own bag.The package also includes a bonus magnifier bookmark and a tiny square of microfiber cleaning cloth.

I am legally blind, so I rely on magnifiers. This magnifier is great for a book, the paper, and even for a laptop. Great product that really works well!!

This magnifier is big and heavier than you would think. However, the magnifier glass does feel it is a quality product but the plastic frame does feel a bit cheap, not as sturdy, especially without the battery installed. With this big magnifier, I can see those small fine prints easily and clearly. This is a handy tool to have.

My mother has reached the age where it seems that all text is printed smaller and smaller. She needs to use a magnifying glass to read many items, even with her reading glasses. I’ve been trying to build up her collection, so that she has one in each room where she needs one, eliminating the need to keep fetching one. This 3” magnifier produces a sharp image and the LED lights make it easy to read when there isn’t a strong light. Unfortunately, the weight of the magnifier and the width/shape of the handle make this one a bit cumbersome for her. I would recommend this for someone who will not need to hold it for an extended period of time.

This is a must have magnifying glass because of the circle of lights. It’s easy to use. It would be nice if the magnifying glass was a bit more powerful, but the lights make this a very helpful tool for the small printing used on many of today’s product literature.
