Far and away the best milk frother I’ve used.
I’ve used a couple of different frothers of this type but purchased this one to use in a busy office to complement a Nespresso Pro range espresso machine. At first I was a bit hesitant as I was unsure about quality and longevity, however I needn’t have worried.Firstly capacity - this unit will easily produce enough frothed milk to fill three medium or two large mugs - significantly more than any of the other frothersive used. It gets the milk to a decent temperature as well; we always have it at the highest (65 degree) setting which is enough, around the same temperature as a normal takeaway latte I’d say. Tip - warm your mug first if you want a hot drink, a splash of boiling water swilled in your mug then poured away stops the milk / coffee getting cold from the off.The froth produced is a bit in the stiff side for me, really what you’d consider a proper cappuccino to be. However, that may be because I always use the maximum amount of milk taken to the hottest setting - therefore it’s heated / frothed for the longest amount of time. Perfectly acceptable though so not really a complaint. The best feature of this machine though is really the ease of cleaning. The ‘all in one’ smaller heaters and frothers aren’t dishwasher safe and in fact are difficult to hand wash without getting the base and electrical connections wet. With the Severin, the whole jug section comes away and can be easily washed and rinsed, or popped in the dishwasher. This really does make a massive difference to useability, as does the induction heating which means there’s never any burnt in or sticky bits of milk on the bottom of the jug, which is a problem with every other heater / frother I’ve used.In summary - an excellent machine, highly recommended. I’ve even bought another one to use at home!

Best milk frother so far
Bought to replace a broken milk frother that had lasted a year (longer than most!). This was more expensive but reading the reviews it was probably worth the additional cost. The is much larger piece of kit and more stable for it.Jug is removable and easy to clean. The frothing wheel comes with spares and alternative designs. The milk froths perfectly and the temperature of the milk can be varied from cold to 65 C. There is a loud audible alarm for when the milk is ready to pour (there is also blue light around the power/start button). I find that if I delay pouring the milk for too long it starts separating between milk and froth - an easy fix is to swirl the milk in the jug manually before pouring!! It is well designed and hopefully will last atleast two years

Really pleased, great item
I’m going to start with the negative first to get it out of the way, as overall it’s a great product. The item arrived with the seal broken and it wasn’t very clean or wrapped well when taken out of the box. Not good at all and made it appear ‘used!’Anyway, the product...the various heat settings are great, the hottest being ideal for a latte, especially if you like your drinks hot. I like to have a bit of hot water and not all milk, so 50 degree temp was ideal. It’s a large capacity stainless steal just so ideal for large lattes/hot chocolate or more than one drink. The froth is lovely, creamy and works well with semi-skimmed milk, which is good as that’s what I use. Some reviews suggest other milk, so it’s a relief that it worked with my usual milk. It’s quick and low level noise so not an inconvenience or disturbing sound. The other reviews were helpful and the product lived up to the positive reviews I read, which was also a relief.Early days, but it seems a really great product and worth buying. I hope this helps you when deciding to purchase.

Expensive, but works well
I had a white one of these which developed a fault (loud rattle/vibration) within a few weeks but this black one has been really good so far - just a gentle whirring sound. No idea why it would be better than the white one as the differences where it counts seem minimal, but hey ho ... maybe I just got a duff white one.Makes really good, thick foam from full cream milk and heats milk up very quickly (for single drinks it's much quicker than I thought it would be). Also has a much larger capacity than others so can make milk for two or more coffees at the same time. Milk does not get super hot, so I tend to warm thick, cold mugs with hot water, but if you intend to drink your drink straight away it's fine. And, importantly, cleaning is very easy.Struggles a bit to make hot chocolate drinks and can't cope at all if your chocolate powder as any sugar crystals in it (which most have) but I didn't buy it for that so ...

Great capacity
Very very good large capacity & it looks good on the bench, and very easy to keep clean, but as with most frothers the foam is not dense.I tried 5 different frothers - I ended up getting another Nespresso aerocinio again instead.

Ok - not needed for lattes from Nespresso
Bought for lattes from a nespresso. It Warms milk. Froth is very frothy a bit too airy for me more like bath foam. No good for lattes for me. I bought it to make lattes using a nedpresso vertuo machine. Used once then discovered all you need to do is fill a mug half full of milk about 200-250ml, microwave it for a minute, stick under nespresso and start nespresso off using large pod. Hey presto Starbucks quality latte. With thicker creamy foam. Sadly discovered this after buying milk heater for £90. Admittedly it’s a lovely bit of quality kit and makes a nice hot chicolate. Nespresso vertuo used daily but this sits in a dark cupboard unused. Will try eBay I think
