Works great!
I live on a top level condo where we are not allowed to have the stands affixed to the outside. I love that the AC goes over the window without needing those. I have seen others that have the U where the window goes inside - I think this design is much safer as the weight is on the wall, not the window. It keeps the room cool, and is SO QUIET inside. I actually had to adjust to sleeping without my old AC noise. It also keeps the room cooler than my portable AC does. I am super pregnant in the dead of summer and this was a lifesaver. It is loud outside the house, but I don't think that matters. It was easy to install, but a bit heavy - you will probably need 2 people. My only complaint is the lights on the front can't be dimmed/turned off, but I just taped a cover over the lights for sleeping.

Good but not great
Edit.. it has been 8 months since we bought 2 of these and one started leaking only after a few months so you have to leave the plug out of it or it will cut off and the other one just started making a horrible noise. I would expect they would last longer than this for the price!!First few weeks it was amazing!! It was really quiet and worked keeping the room cold. Now it makes more noise than the start of it but still keeps the room cold. Today 1 month after owning it keeps cutting off needing to be drained every 10 mins so I will keep 3 stars unless I can’t figure out that issue.

Must have a 15” opening height of window to install
Easy installation, super quite & cools great. Moves air out long distance. I can feel the air movement @ 30’ away30 days later, this AC is amazing! I have it mounted in my garage man cave on the back wall where I had a basement type tilt in window. I removed the window and installed it with ease. My ceiling is 10’ high, room is 16’ wide & 35’ deep. It’s outlet vent is 8’ off the floor. I can stand 25’ away from it & cool air is blowing in my face. I’ve set the fan on high, unit is on energy saving mode so it cycles on off @ the temperature I set. 69 is my setting of choice because I like it a little colder than most people. I’m a construction worker outside in the heat of the day, come home and I don’t want to leave the man cave! I will buy another next year for a different room. I purchased another U-shaped AC when I bought this one, it’s the upright U vs this one of an upside down U-shape. I prefer this one.Extremely quite unit. Love it!

A cool take on window units
This is a great solution for those who'd rather not give up their viewable window space to an AC unit. The upside-down U shape also should theoretically allow it to be quieter since the compressor etc are all housed outside the window, and can use the window as a sound barrier. I've used a U-bend Midea AC unit that worked this way, however this one one was not really as quiet. I think it's less loud compared to a larger traditional window unit, but it's not the most quiet out there. That being said, it DID work quite well, made the room nice and cold and includes its own little "feet" to brace against the wall so you don't need a window mount. It worked nicely with my offset siding. The black blocks to offset the unit to protect the windowsill aren't really tall enough (see the photo), but I was able to get it seated nicely regardless. The only catch is that it is lower than the window and heat rises- normally you want AC vents to come from as tall a point in the room as you can (ceiling, etc), so having this sit below the window is a compromise you have to make if you want to keep your window. That being said, I love having the window still available. If you have a tall ceiling or larger room, I'd probably recommend a ceiling fan or something to pull the cool air upwards if you have trouble. So far I don't need that, it has kept my room nice and cold! Would recommend, very unique design.

Simply the BEST
I have bought many window AC units before and I have to say this is the very best unit I haver ever chose. I live in East Texas and just had one of the most brutal summers ever. This unit kept the 1 bedroom apt VERY COOL! My indoor temperature gage NEVER hit 75°, it maintained a comfortable 70° and at times 68° with an outside temp of 110°. I highly recommend this AC for anyone interested in a cost efficient and easy to install unit. I love how the AC unit hangs over the widow sill and the indor plug to drain water is easy to reach and drain. The two filters slide in and out easily and cleaning them is a breeze.Do yourself a favor and buy this unit, you won't be sorry.UPDATE: Since my first review of this item. I have noticed a few 1 star ratings. I see the problems they are having and after reading them I hope this helps. The unit does shut off if full of water. When emptying via the plug ma sure to whipe the inside bottom next to the cooling vents. Make sure to get any "sludge" water out. Living in Texas and the high humidity, ours fills up in 3 ro 4 days. I have also noticed that if you take a small portable blower and blow the metal vents behind the filters the noice stops. To me thus is general maintenance, just as cleaning the filters is. I hope this helps. My AC unit is still working as well as it did the day I bought it. There is a slight noticeable increase in noise but nothing too distracting.

Drain pan isn’t full- Got Replacement
A/c gets “FL” error constantly, don’t use humidifier but opened plug just to check and it was bone dry. Water is dripping outside like it was designed. Started when summer peaked, runs fine at night.Edit: customer service sent me a replacement (delivered today) and I don’t have to ship them the defective one.

Best AC on the market
Love this thing. Live in an older apartment in Houston in 115f weather. With no AC my place gets over 100. With the ac in the unit on full blast, it drops to about 90f. Then last year I bought another ac unit, and helped drop it to about 82f. But this unit actually brought down my apt to 72f, and actually blows colder than the central ac and my other window ac unit that's rated at 16000btu. So this thing rocks and is super easy to set up and keep window space. Didn't want to mess risking a window unit falling, and this thing just sits on the window sill and stays. Love it.
