Sweet Little
We drink coffee and my kids love to help me prepare it. I looked everywhere in the States for an attractive wooden coffee maker toy and couldn't find one. Everything was cheaply made in China and painted hideous colors. I found this one and crossed my fingers hoping that they would ship to the US, which they did for a small premium. Santoys isn't distributed in the USA but as far as I can tell it is a lot like Plan Toys, made safely in Thailand with childsafe paints and organic rubberwood.I am so glad I ordered this model because it is very sweet. The smallish size is in line with our other play food (mostly Haba and Plan Toys). The scale is a little larger than the Plan Toys tea set. I like that this set is attractive, sturdy, and functional. It includes little wooden coffee beans that you can scoop into the machine and with a satisfying click of the button, pour into the coffee pot. Some parents will probably replace the "beans" with something less likely to spill but I won't. I love the functionality and don't mind a bit of mess. Scooping and pouring are valuable preschool skills! Whatever you decide to do with the beans, this is a really nicely designed piece.
