According to Monty Don, snail and slug control is the number one problem that we gardeners haveEvery spring, the battle begins with these hungry gastropods and every summer I find tell tale holes in my Brassicas, Hostas, Dahlias and every other plant they took a liking to. Last summer I went so far as to grow extra cabbages just for the slugs, in the vain hope that they would stick to their own patch. Unfortunately the extra food seemed to give them more energy and I managed to grow only 4 cabbages to maturity. I started with 18 and so this was not a good result. As an animal lover, killing them is not an option and so I took to rehoming them by a local river, but they seemed to grow in numbers every day. I tried egg shells, copper tape, cat fur and lemon juice, but nothing stopped them from chomping on my beloved plants. Last year I decided that enough was enough - you can see what they did to my Hostas in the pictures - and asked my husband for his help. Between us we came up with Snail Offence and you can see from the comparison pictures how well it works. The copper literally provides a fence around your pots and at 100ml high, can be used on large or small pots Gardener know that slugs and snails don`t like to cross copper as it feels unpleasant, but many products are just too flimsy to do the job properlyAttach to pots with glue, pins or anything else that will keep it in place. I`ve been known to use paper clips when nothing else was available. And don`t worry about rust marks when the copper gets wet as - unlike steel mesh - it won't rust or stain your pots If you try Snail Offence and are in any way disappointed, please feel free to return and ask for a refund as I would not want you to spend money on a slug control product that you are not completely delighted with I would love to know how you get on - and any pictures would be great.
