Benross GardenKraft 17990 Stainless Steel Colour Changing Wind Spinner Solar Hanging Garden Light

It's junk. It arrived broken. The sheath of the cable that powers the light was split and the wires inside exposed.It's is not obvious in the description or the picture, but the ball that spins in the centre is a very heavy ball of perspex. Like a giant plastic marble. The marble is suspended on the cable which powers the light. It is only a few millimetres wide and is not sturdy enough to hold the weight of the ball.I would imagine even if it hadn't arrived broken in the box, it would not have lasted long with the weight of the ball swinging around on the wire.Otherwise, the light was very pretty. It made more colours than I would expect from a single LED. The ball itself was also pretty, clear perspex with bubbles inside. However, it only occasionally flicked on, it would only work when held at certain angles. Most of the time it didn't work because of the dodgy cableThe ball was also scratched heavily, I assume where it had hit the side of the metal outside part. Maybe it was even one that had been returned broken and sent out again?The metal spinner part was fine, if a little flimsier than I imagined. Not sure how well it would spin in the wind, a bit dubious about that. I never got as far as hanging it outside.However it was broken, didn't work most of the time and I doubt whether it is fit for purpose. It might be worth a punt if it was a pound or two, but it isn't.I bought it from Topnotchsales, who are actually TJ Hughes. Had I known, I might have avoided, they get terrible reviews elsewhere. I did return it, but customer service was a nightmare.I have attached photos, so you can see what I mean about the cable.

VERY impressed with this item. Robust and very well made with a carabina clip to hang it by, stopping it taking off in strong wind. The light changing ball is very heavy and quite pretty with bubbles pattern in it. Took it out of the box and it started going through the colour changes immediately. MUST get another one I think. Recommended. Ideal if you need to mark the edge of a wall or shed. I have no peripheral vision and this is superb for showing me where the edge of the pergola and the conservatory are. Just put up a plant basket bracket and off it went changing colour and spinning

Really rotting Cristal ball came off spinner second day I had it. Won't purchase again from this surplier

it is spectacular the colours are wonderful.i could stand and watch it for hours.well recommended.good value for money will make fantastic christmas or any time gift for someone.thankyou

This looks lovely in the garden, charges well even on dull days, in the right place obviously (!), and the colour changes are really pretty. It will be interesting to see how well the charge does through the winter.

Glad I paid slightly more than from some suppliers, as this is a stainless steel version, which shouln't rust. Looks great in my conservatory, and even this time of year - November - in the North of Scotland, manages to get enough charge for an hour or so of ambient lighting. Worth the money.

absolute rubbish lasted 2 months before the wire into the bulb broke rendering the whole thing useless don't bother.
