Talent shows from the very first album
Most people know of Sarah McLachlan due to her success with such hits as "Building A Mystery", "Adia", "Possession" and "Hold On". I discovered her by buying "Touch" back in 1992, and I bought it on cassette because at the time I had no CD player. Despite the lack of quality in the sound of cassette (vs the sound from a CD) I knew then that this was a woman of extraordinary talent. It is true that this album is different from all of her others, in that it is almost over-produced. I think this can be overlooked considering the beautiful result. The purity of her voice shines through in most songs, although her talent at the piano in "Ben's Song" is overshadowed by the other songs. However, if the extremely catchy "Vox" doesn't make you want to hit repeat on your CD player I'd be surpised. The songs have gotten better over the years and the sound has matured as Sarah has learned to go with a more natural sound and sing the majority of her songs in the mid to lower portion of her range. But if you are a true fan, this album is one that you shouldn't pass up.

Different but good
This is different Sarah McLaughlin music than what I have come to know and love. Different but still enjoyable. I guess because this is an older one (put out in 1988) she had yet to develop her signature sound. While it is not readily identifiable as Sarah...it's a good CD

Fantastic DVD-Audio version of Touch
This DVD-Audio version of Touch, in 96kHz, 24-bit stereo, sounds spectacular. It played without a problem on my DVD-Audio player (an Oppo BDP-83 universal player). The sound quality is absolutely first rate; there is no discernable noise or hiss.Read reviews of the CD album if you wish to know more about the music (which is perhaps Sarah McLachlan's best music). The only disappointment (and it is something of a big one) is that the alternative mix of the song Vox is missing from the DVD-Audio album.

DVD Audio
This is mainly to state I haven't had any trouble playing this title. Stereo only (the reason for 4 stars) but sounds fantastic - is you're a big fan and have the rig to play this is would be highly recommended. To bad it's OOP and $$$$$. Have fun!

Touch
Combination of folk and rock. An amazing but haunting music combines with wonderful lyrics to leave hungering and heart breaking but in the best way possible! Could not recommend this album enough!

Sack the Drummer
What could have been a beautiful album totally spoilt by awful loud drumming and percussion. Poorly mixed. I wonder how SM' allowed this to be released.

Moods and poetry
I have stared to collect as much of Sarah's music as I can. It is moody and warm, like a log fire in winter.
