Sharp
A lil smaller than I thought which to me puts price on highish side. But it’s surprisingly easy to hold, sharp as can be and holds. Dont love the sheath though. Wish it had double retention.

Great knife, mediocre sheath
I bought this knife for rougher backpacking trips when just a pocketknife isn't sufficient. It's lighter in weight than a heavy-duty folding knife, and has the advantage of no folding mechanism to fail. It has a large enough blade to handle any tasks that come, from slicing cheese to cutting through brambles and vines on spring trails. It's not a machete, but the blade is quite serviceable and is easy to keep very sharp. The handle is big enough to accommodate my entire hand, no fingers falling off, and I can use the end of the handle as a pommel if needed. All in all, the knife is outstanding. The sheath, however, has proven disappointing. I found that, to hold securely in the sheath, the knife has to be inserted in the sheath and then pulled down, toward the blade side, to lock it in the sheath, even with the tension screw on the sheath tightened as far as it will go. This makes me reluctant to carry it in a "handle down" configuration on my pack, which was my intention when I bought this, because I worry that I won't fully "lock" the knife in place and it will fall out. I do not want that knife to fall out and into my foot in the back country, so I'm trying it in some different configurations. However, I'd strongly prefer that the knife "click" positively into the sheath and not be able to rattle out, even if I'm careless about putting it in the sheath. We'll see this spring and summer how it goes.

Bang for your BUCK!
This is by far the best ultralight fixed blade I have found for the price! Highly recommend!

My new favorite thing
I really like it. The sheath took a while to figure out, maybe I should read directions, they might tell how to use it...But it's an ingenious little finger tab you push in and down and it pops out when you want it too, won't come out when you don't. Perfect. Super sharp.

Amazing knife. Very well made
Minimalist but a bit of a grip which is nice. Very nice blade grind. S3xV is amazing. Difficult to sharpen without diamond stones but easy with. Edge lasts forever. With a few good knives invest in a food sharpening jig.

Never received my knife
NOTE: This is not a review towards the actual product (Buck makes quality USA made knives) this is a review towards AMAZON PRIME. I NEVER RECEIVED MY KNIFE! I just received an empty shipping envelope lol

New model, same materials, higher price
Nice looking design on the new version Paklite series, but the exact same blade steel and plastic sheath (minus the nylon outer covering/belt loop) for double the price is a bit hard to justify. Recommend picking up the "bucklite max" series if you want a US made fixed with a full sized handle, or the original packlite series with the skeletonized handle, while you can.

Good for all around field use
I used to use the smaller version as a bushcraft capable daily carry from 10 years agoEnded up losing itNow I don’t really randomly bushcraft while going in and out of urban areas and got the longer knife as a general field knifeWorks wellBatton wood with itMake shavingsGood against waterGood no nonesense knifeThe “handle” is iffy but it can be removed and used as a template for another hand made one.The original I got had nothing to it besides the metal of the stamped tang and I just paracorded it. Wish the price was lower with no handle but still worth it
