Surprised my husband with this kit! He loves it, we've added a few extra supplies & he's made 6 Flys so far.

Hook quality is questionable, but if you're targeting 12" trout or smaller you'll be fine. This kit has everything but the fancy feathers and wire. The tools are what impressed me most. The scissors are razor sharp and I love how this kit comes with TWO bobbins. Most only come with one and it's a such a time waster to have to rethread when you're changer colors. No problems with this kit. I've already tied a few and haven't had issues. Will this last me 10 years? Likely not. Will it give me a usable set of tools as a beginner until I decide what I want long term? Absolutely. Good value for the money!

Very happy with this product and particularly the bobbins.

I have not used the kit yet. Everything was exactly as advertised. I'm sure there will have to be additional supplies to get everything I want but it is a good starter kit.

This is a great product for beginners.

Main complaint is that set arrived missing one of the sets of hooks. #12 curved. The one most likely to be used. Overall decent kit. Hook and beads are extremely small. The largest fly you could tie would be about the size of an average pinky nail. All other components are of good quality. Tools are comparable to most that come in other kits. I could have probably better spent the money buying more specific items, but if you’re looking for an “all in one” introductory kit, this will suffice. Just plan on purchasing larger hooks and beads because the ones included are tiny.

There is a lip inside the spool holder and it makes it almost impossible to thread. Dumb design.
