Cheaply made pole connectors don't fit had to use tape

This set is super cute.The outfits fits my daughter's 18" American Girl Doll perfectly!The hat was a little tough to get on over all of her hair, but it worked!There are no instructions on setting up the tent.I've set up a few real tents in my life, so it was easy enough to figure out.There are a few issues.There are no poles going from front to back, so the tent wants to fold up easily.The poles connect but the connectors just slide through the pole, so it's hard to keep them in place while playing.My biggest issue with this tent is that the window screen on one of the doors came unsewn after a gentle opening of the velcro door.It's still usable, but after opening the door 1 time, an item shouldn't be "broken".

We got this as we have a daughter who is a keen play-focused collector of 18" dolls, including several from American Girl and Our Generation. Happily she is not "brand focused" and welcomes accessories like this, which expand her "girls'" world at a more affordable price than AG does...As she doesn't have Luciana Vega, the astronaut-aspiring Girl of the Year of years past (I think I have that right), she has not had any space-themed kit—this neatly provides that. It's not 100% clear what the presumed relationship is between the starring astronaut outfit (which btw we agree could double as a martial art gi perhaps), and the tent, but, we'll take it. The tent is not super robust but is perfectly fine and well sized for camp-out play.Construction and material quality are acceptable, packaging is basic. A nice gift for doll-play.

This set has everything you could need for a doll. The astronaut suit, the helmet, tent, sleeping bag, pillow, and shoes. It's perfect! It fit my daughters American Girl doll and one of the Our Generation 18inch dolls. I took one star away because the tent doesn't go together quite like it's supposed to. I thought I had it all together perfectly until I noticed the connectors it came with and that threw it off. I ended up taking white duct tape and taping the connectors and polls together, so they don't fall apart every time she uses it.The error was something I could fix myself, but it was enough to take one star away.

The outfit itself is pretty nice, and I'm sure your little one will appreciate it. It includes the bodysuit, boots and cloth helmet, but no gloves. That actually kind of bugs me, because you know, the suit would decompress and the doll would suffocate and freeze in space, but then, there's no shield on the helmet either. But we're talking dolls here, if you were so inclined, you can "pretend" to explain the necessities of the suit to your daughter.The kit also includes a space tent, pillow and sleeping bag. The tent is where they really dropped the ball. First, there's no instructions, but it's easy to figure out. The main thing is the connecting poles, or specifically the couplers. They will just slide down the pole. They're bigger than the poles, so there's no tension to keep them in place; there's not even is inside-center stopper to keep the poles just half-in the coupler. A little tape will solve the issue, but it's one of those things the manufacturer should have considered.

I had very high hopes for this set as it combines doll accessories with a space theme which is pretty unique. The tent which is easily the most exciting part of this set is a huge letdown. It came with no directions to assemble which honestly even if it had you would just discover even sooner the big design flaw. The connectors for the poles have no stopping center they are just open tubes so when you slide a pole into it, the pole then slides right back out of the other end. It made putting the poles together precarious and frustrating. Eventually after many awkward failed attempts and the poles shooting out of the connectors I got it together but at that point I was turned off by the whole thing. For goodness sakes just include appropriate user friendly parts. The outfit is cute but the sleeping bag is short and wide. Sigh.

I ordered this for my son who wanted to use it with his teddy bear.PROS:-cute fabric-multiple items: pillow sleeping bag, suit with hat, and tent-perfect size for a teddy bear or medium size dollCONS:-tent assembly is not intuitive. My son tried to build it on his own and I tagged because he did not realize that the poles needed to cross. I helped him fix it, but I noticed that the connector pieces for the pole segments are not very sturdy. With any sort of active play, I suspect the tent will collapse.Otherwise, this is a fun play set.
