Great cooling solution for small cases
Lives up to the expectations I have for Noctua. This is a high airflow fan that is installed into my ReadyNAS Pro6 to increase its airflow due to the location I keep this in. The 3 pin fan that is voltage controlled by the NAS's OS so it doesn't spin up unless necessary so its as silent as the other more 'normal' Noctua fans but with the added maximum potential of 2000rpm, very good CFM flowthrough and high static pressure created an excellent cooling solution in the tight confines of my ReadyNAS Pro6... highly recommended

Get them for the quality and flow but NOT quietness!
The only industrial thing about these is the sound, they're loud at higher RPMS. The seem to be great and have a very high static pressure but just too loud. I'm basing my opinion on a comparison i did with three other fans i had and this is by far the loudest. Very solid part but just not good for a silent.

Quiet fan that can push air well
This fan is quieter than I expected and moves a good amount of air, even though a dense CPU heat sink.

replacement Drobo 5D fan works fine
Works perfectly as a replacement fan for Drobo 5N. Its a 3 wire non PWM, so uses just the 12v black and red wire and runs between about 5v and 12v according to the signal from the Drobo board. Took about 30 mins to swap into the drive. Has a different pin connector, so a splice with the original connector is needed.

Had a PPC3000 and working fine. This one when mounted horizontally had a vibration buzzing sound which I think was the fan spindle moving up and down. Have returned for refund. This was handled very quickly and easily.

Significant increase in thermals
I purchased 3 of these and my PC is significantly cooler as a result. I cannot recommend these more! Easy to set up, easy to modify the settings in BIOS (such as fan RPM).
