This portable CD player is truly a PIECE OF JUNK. It emits MANY mechanical noises during playback. It hums and whirs and rumbles. If you are listening through headphones, you might not notice this intermittent "chatter". However, I used this to play CDs through my sound bar and quickly became disgusted with the player's crude contributions to my listening experience. It also skipped at regular intervals, even though it was resting on stable and solid platform. I am sure Beethoven would have been enraged had he heard the gaps this player frequently interjected during playback of his lovely compositions.Hott is trying to make a fast buck selling this shoddy product. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Worked fine at the start. Took it on a road trip to listen to an audio book, but kept skipping. It has never been the same since.

This is a sweet little CD player that can be plugged in or carried around and played with two AA batteries. The seller sent a quirky email "disclaimer" instructing the user in how to problem-solve issues that apparently have been reported by others as being the fault of the player but are truly user- or disc-error. I have had no problems with the player thus far and love being able to play my old favorite CD's while walking on the beach or on my back deck. I still love low-tech sometimes.

Great unit. Didn't read the description well enough to notice it only has ear buds.Need something with a built in speaker as well. Otherwise, I would have giventhis product 5 stars.

My first Amazon review is dedicated to this crap. It is made of plastic. Cheap, but charge you ~$60. The sound is horrible, with a lot of white noise (I used a good quality earphone so it is the CD player's problem). To make things worse, the product I received has multiple scratches on it, making it like a recycled item. Lastly, its AC adapter does not work and it won't start without batteries. I would like a refund and return of the product.

If you receive one that works I'm sure it is fine. There must be little or no testing at factory because it included a "test" cd to see if you get sound as well as some instructions that indicate why it might not play. The test cd only played on 1 channel. It also skipped and was garbled in parts. I tried my cds and did not get theskipping but still got sound from only one channel. The one I received is defective. For what I paid I expected it to work when it arrived. I returned it.
