So love the look and feel of this thing. It is powerful and I tested some splatter eco balls on a frozen pumpkin last week about 25 yards away. The balls went right into the pumpkin which was about 2 inches thick. Shot 5 at middle of pumpkin and 3 hit dead in middle with sights lined up out of the box. Very accurate shooting. Next shot 5 kinetic balls at it and 2 missed but 3 ended up inside the pumpkin. One went strait through a large very thick plastic planter I had set the pumpkin on leaving an inch sized perfect hole on both sides through and throughI then the pumpkin and planter with a 10 pellet 177 crossman revolver that I have and thise pointed pellets barely stuck into the surface of pumpkin. Some even bounced away. All that I shot at the plastic planter bounced into oblivion somewhere in the yard!Result I was thinking this Byrna is amazing!!Last night a possum showed up outside my chicken coup again and usually I will pepper it with about 30 or 40 crossman 177 pellets - 10 per wheel - you know those ones that were bouncing off the pumpkin and the possum normally then flops over deadSo instead I went out with the new Byrna thinking it may go through the possum or take his head off. I shot 5 eco green .68 balls at the possum that was trapped in a corner at about 3 or 4 feet away. The balls just hit him and exploded. Then same 5 shots with kinetic balls and those actually hit him and either bounced away at high speed or exploded as well. Possum was stunned but ran away. I was quite stunned at what I witnessed as well. Maybe this possum was wearing a steel coat I thought??So I am thinking now what in the heck. If that was an intruder in my house he wouldve laughed at me as he flinched a bit and then shot me with his real gun cuz this Byrna wont even knock out a possum at close range??So I Went and got my crossman revolver and emded him with about 30 shots of 177 roundsMaybe I dont understand guns and fps versus actual impact force, but that Byrna seems like a beast tho it wont even knock out a possum. Whereas the Crossman revolver is quite wimpy and kills a possum. I think neither would be very good protection other than they look real and are all black.If you enjoy plinking in backyard Byrna is scary and loud and dangerously causes balls to bounce back at you full speed so be careful. Get a trap that will catch them good. It does give the look and feel of a real gun if you need practice using high power and cheap ball pellets versus cost of a real gun with real bullets.I would say its a good starter gun and could be dangerous if not handled correctly. Very accurate and easy to hold and shoot with one hand.

Amazing product,Caution this is a rodent dispatched story I hadn’t taking the time to test/train in backyard yet.. Today I opened my kitchen pantry to a mouse on my food. He had evaded traps in house and I needed him removed. I opened my Byrna loaded kinetic balls, inserted Co2 for the first time. At 6ft the first shot piercing Co2 missed high, now knowing my sights the second shot dispatched him splitting him in half. Neither shot went through drywall only a half ball depth dent.I’m pleased this product performed with the accuracy and controls of real firearms making easy transition for folks with range time.I would carry this for many reasons including streets with aggressive dogs, it’s not leathal on large mammals but may draw blood if hit in face. This is Definitely effective protection.10min later walked out back:How’s a Hole in beach pale at 50ft for accuracy and punch. (Measured tape 50ft not guess)

I LOVE the Byrna launcher! I have used them for predator deterrence with great success. It's wonderful to know that I won't be harming any animals, but I can 'encourage' them to move along reliably. The accuracy and range are outstanding. The build quality is also stellar as is the customer service at Byrna. My only complaint was that Amazon shipping for some reason kept sending me a black launcher when I had specifically ordered orange (so as not to ever be confused with an actual firearm) I got that sorted and couldn't be happier with this.

The product is solid—exceptional quality, grip was perfect, performance superlative. But when you order the color black and it arrives red, or order red and it arrives black, that part is annoying. Other than that, recommend this product.

I too purchased the orange gun and received the black one. So going by many of the comments, if you want black order orange and if you want orange order black. That being said, very nicely built and shoots great. I am very pleased with the item itself minus the color thing.

Sent wrong color. Ordered black and they sent orange. The product is “non returnable”. Byrna customer service was willing to exchange it but Amazon should have sent the right one to begin with

Very sturdy, very well built. I'm still looking for something to use it on :)
