We use this every day!
I am one of those folks who has to have ice in my water but got tired of spending $6 a bag for ice several time a week. This ice maker does a very good job of making bullet ice for daily use.It is a good size, and was very reasonably priced — it has paid for itself quickly.Pros:Makes ice very fastMakes several baskets full an hour (about 2 cups per basket)Easy to useCons:Isn’t always quiet (but not LOUD either)Ice melts quickly in drinksNot refrigerated

The perfect ice
I fell in love with this ice machine recently when we were at the beach. Our house was equipped with one and that gave me the opportunity to put it to the test! Once we arrived back home, I ordered the same unit! One downfall is that it is slow at first but once it cycles through a few times, it starts cranking out the ice! This machine is affordable and gets the job done!

Keep the ice in a ziplock bag so you can easily break them apart when you need to take some out.
I LOVE this ice maker. I live in a rental with just a basic fridge/freezer unit so no built in ice maker, and the small freezer is always packed with barely room to keep an ice bin, and def no room to freeze ice in trays. The way this works is that the ice bullets are formed on metal rods which are the only part of the unit that is chilled to freeze the water, therefore This ice maker does not have a freezer compartment that will keep the finished ice bullets frozen so you will heed to immediately transfer the ice to your freezer as soon as the collection bin is full. The first time I made enough ice to fill my ice bin in my freezer, I realized that the ice bullets tend to have a melted outer layer so that once in the ice bin, they will all freeze into a block of ice bullets that need to be broken apart. I solved this problem by putting the ice bullets into a ziplock bag which I keep in my freezer ice bin. This allows me to easily break up the ice bullets every time I need to retrieve ice from my stash, as well as keeps the ice fresh by not adsorbing odors and also keeps it from sublimating away while in frozen storage. A gallon sized bag was not big enough to maximize the available storage space in my ice bin so I got the 2.5 gal size and those generously line my bin and allow me to store my ice bin’s maximum capacity of ice. When I want ice I just pull the bag out of the bin, drop it onto the counter a few times to break them apart, just like you have to do with a purchased bag of ice. After getting the ice I need out, I just put the bag of ice back in the freezer ice bin, squish out the air and seal the bag & stick it back in the freezer. Easy and fast. The water reservoir of the ice maker holds 2 liters and it just so happens that that amount of water makes the exact amount of ice bullets to completely fill up my freezer ice bin to max capacity so I am very happy with it. A small freezer compartment to collect the ice in as it is made would have rated it 5 stars, but the simpler design without it still works well for my needs and is a much more affordable price than a unit with such a freezer collection space, so a solid 4 stars for a useful unit that will require some personal intervention to transfer the ice into freezer storage as it is made.I do wish that it had an audio alert for the full bin indicator in addition to the red indicator light, so that I could get the ice into the freezer immediately, but since the unit is small, portable and does not need to be hooked up to a water line, I just placed it where I can see it from my desk chair and set an alarm on my phone to start looking at the indicator lights after 50-55 minutes and that is working very well for me.

Great customer service
We ordered this icemaker, and were very happy with it, until, 2 months later, it would not turn on. Of course, the 30 day Amazon return deadline was over. I contacted customer service and talked to Dan Dehler. He immediately sent us a quick form to fill out and requested that we video the ice maker not turning on. The next day, he said a replacement was on the way. We were sent a tracking number, and they checked to make sure it had been delivered and was working correctly. Right now, the new machine is making ice like a charm. This was the easiest transaction ever. No arguing, polite service, and immediate satisfaction. Thank you!

Happy with this ice maker
I have a basement bar without an ice maker. For years I've used freezer molds or ice from the upstairs refrigerator. I finally decided to go with a countertop ice maker and settled on this one. So far, a few months into use, I'm pretty happy with it.Pros: It has worked flawlessly and is very easy to use. The self clean method seems to work well, but I've only used it once. I run this every Friday and Saturday evening (when I need ice for liquor drinks) and then leave it sitting the rest of the week. I haven't had any issues with function or cleanliness. I do use jug drinking water from a local grocery store, so that probably helps keep it from getting grime build up. The bullet ice on the large setting is perfect for what I wanted.Cons: Some other reviews mentioned how loud it is. While somewhat true, I found that in reviews for many other ice makers. The loudest part is the fan running, but it's a constant hum. I have yet for it to bother me at all, but I do have the ice maker on the other side of my basement bar/TV room. If it was close to me or I was in a room that needed relative quite, I could see the ice maker sound being an issue. The only other "con" is that, because I only use this on weekends, the first several batches of ice on Fridays are too small to use. I just dump them back in the water reservoir which is as simple as lifting the basket and turning it over. Once the ice gets going, it's perfect. If you want small cubes then this is probably a non-issue. However, when I use the ice maker on Saturdays (the second day in a row), the ice is good to go after just one or two batches. This is noted in the manual that if you go several days without use, the first sets of ice won't be fully formed. Once I learned how this works, I've had zero issues timing it out for use.Overall, I'd say I'm happy with this ice maker and would recommend it to others. There are so many options that I'm sure there are others just as good, or better, but it's almost impossible to tell until you get it into the location you plan to use. Side note... the included scooper and suction cup hook is a nice touch. I use it every time I use the ice maker.
