Installing the wires.
Just installed and its working. To install the wires into the light switch, cut the top wire and the bottom wire at the point they enter the existing switch. With a wire stripper, using the 16 gage slot, strip away about a half of an inch of covering to bare the inner wires, twist the bare wires a bit to make them stiff. On both sides of the new switch there is a slot to insert the twisted wire, which will lock in place once inserted properly. One of the slots is higher than the other. The higher slot is for the top wire and the lower slot is for the bottom wire. The slots. Each slot has a metal locking mechanism, the crimped area of the metal is the place the wire will be inserted. Push on the crimped area with metal paper clip, gently, so you feel in opening. Gently push the metal locking mechanism a few more times to weaken its grip, this will give the the twisted wire enough strength to be inserted and locked properly. Once you've insert the twisted wire, try to pull it out; if there's no give its locked properly.

It worked
It was a perfect match for the item I was replacing. I have zero skills but I got it done!

I order what I thought was the pull switch for the fan, I got the pull switch for the lights, my mistake, but insatlled it while I had it and works well.

Battery was dead on arrival
Ordered two of these. Both arrived with low batteries. Returned one. Purchased a replacement battery for the other. Battery cost as much as the thermometer. Don’t buy this product.

Nice,compact Ceiling light switches
My Son's Ceiling Light recently stopped working on his 42" Ceiling Fan. After some testing the light pull switch itself was the culprit.I went to the local Hardware store and purchased a Gardner Bender GSW-32switch and took the Fan Housing down for the installation. The porcelain bulb holder was contacting the GSW Switch and would not sit flush as the new switch was physically larger than the original switch. I tried grinding down the Switch lightly in my Bench Grinder but that proved useless so I was out the $6.59 for the GB Switch. After some research it I found these which resembled the factory switch even down to the script on the housing. They fit perfectly and now, with the packaging containing two switches I have a spare for my Daughter's room.A note:These Switches do not come with any wire leads attached, you pull out the wires from the original switch and gently insert them into each end of the new switch. They are held in by a friction-fit small brass tab.If they last the 20+ years of the original switch I'll be happy.
