Classic book that every Christian should read besides the Bible.

What a wonderful book. I will say that I read most of it as a new Christian but didn’t finish itNow 40 years later I found it full of wonderful insights and encouragement. Sound doctrine and beautiful picture of who God is and who we are in Him

I am absolutely loving this book. I’ve read the Bible but to is helping me understand it more and inspiring me to go back and read the Bible again with new eyes. If you are looking to know God this is the book!

This book by J.I. Packer is a TREASURE! We are using it in a men's Bible study and it generates lots of deep discussion. It really makes you think.

I’m about halfway through and this book is truly thought provoking and life changing. I recommend any disciple of Christ to read this book, especially for the recent converts.

Another book that God used to bring me into a deeper understanding and knowledge of Himself. My life has never been the same.

The Bible is the first and best book. This one is second.

A highly regarded book by many people I’ve known. I always want a closer walk with God. I was somewhat disappointed to discover that this book, like most Christian literature, teaches a lot “about” God without actually teaching how to “know” God. That said, I found much of what the author explains very helpful. The final chapters, though, became mind-numbingly theological and I simply put it down without finishing it. YMMV
