I use this to charge my iPhone SE as I ride along. It works charging my phone even when the lights are on, although I turn the lights off for a full charge to the phone. It is wired into a SON 28 dynohub in my front wheel.I patched the wiring into the light feed at the top of the forks

Pathetic
Installation: Time consuming & error-prone. Would be easy to install a 2nd having made all the mistakes first time round.Performance: Pathetic! Fits USB easy enough but just doesn't deliver enough charge - several days, I've had external battery (Pebble Verto) plugged in for entire 7-8 hours of cycling, which has then delivered less than 25% charge to mobile phone. Doesn't work at all if connected direct to your phone. Conclusion: Just don't. Perhaps try a micro solar panel instead!

I use this for bike-packing duties charging a cache battery (Zendure A3) off an SP dynamo via this unit. I then recharge my Garmin/i phone/camera off the cache battery as and when required. There is some useful charge at low speeds especially if you're spending long hours in the saddle but the faster you're going the better! I have my unit mounted on the stem so its very neat - the cap can twizzle round to protect the usb port when not in use. I know some bike packers have the unit in a handlebar bag rather than mounted for really wet weather protection. So theres lots of options for setting up. The connecting lead from the hub to the unit is thin so some care is required when setting up, but the company supply spares which I have used and the delivery has been swift. I have always had a prompt response to any queries about use, supply and spares etc. I have used it for multi day trips and am pleased. Compared to other similar products that do the same thing the price is excellent.
