Hot and Hilarious! A real 'feel good' read!
Operation one night stand.I had read all the teasers for this book on the weeks leading up to its release and with each new snippet I found myself growing more and more excited to read the book. I have to say I was not dissapointed. Not at all.Christine Hughes pitched this just right. It was beautifully written, hilarious, touching, sexy, honest and thoroughly entertaining. From the very first page I was hooked and didn't put it down until I had consumed the whole book. Even when my eyes blurred from tiredness at three in the morning I simply enlarged the text on my ereader and continued straight through. The story focuses on Caroline, a woman knocking on the door of her 30's whose life essentially stops when she discovers her fiancee cheating with his intern. Everything she'd built of her life gets thrown into question and she sinks into despair (which in this case takes the form of her friends butter-yellow sofa and a few dozen pints of icecream). But Caroline has Melody and Sarah who stage the best kind of intervention I have ever heard of...Operation: one night stand. What better way to get back in the saddle, take a little power over your own life and break a dating habit of a lifetime?Lots of things happened after this...first I fell in love with Melody and the side splitting things that fell out of her mouth. Then I fell in love with Bartender Brian because OMG the bodyshot. Then I did a lot of oohinh ahhhing some heehawing a giggle-snort or two, there was some definite growling and a a lot of "cor blimey, that's hot."But the best part of all is that I smiled the whole way through. That's what this book does. It takes you on a journey with Caroline and with her you find a little happiness along with a side of laugh-out-loud snark. It leaves you throughly satisfied and eager for book two because - from that cheeky little teaser chapter Ms. Hughes left for us at the end of the book - Melody is in trouble!Totally recommended!

Operation Awesome!
Follow Caroline as she learns to reignite her lady parts and let love back in, with a little help from her friends. Gone is the cheating boyfriend and his horrible intern, gone is her dreary job, and gone also is the yummy ice cream treats! Instead, she enters into a bet that may tear her heart in two if she lets it, and change her life for the better, whilst she gets her life back on track. The girl gang has a very Sex in the City vibe to it, but they are definitely girls that I would have a coffee/tea with. And maybe a few cheeky drinks! They have a good bond, and the new characters who enter meld nicely with the group that already exists. The romance and erotic elements between Caroline and her One Night Stand/s and the object of main lust is well written, and has a real chick flick feel. It isn't forced, and the writing is natural. It's really feel good, and leaves you with a smile. We also get a list of drinks at the back and I certainly want to try some of them, they sound really tasty.

Hilarious and sexy!
Oh wow this book had me hooked! It was a brilliant light read, was very HOT in places and had me laughing so much that reading it in public wasn't really an option! lolThis is about Caroline breaking up with her fiance after 5 years because he cheated...she's living with a friend, Sarah, feeling sorry for herself and doubting everything.Sarah and her other friend Melody then come in with Operation One Night Stand. .it takes her a while to get on board with it but she does. It doesn't turn out quite like she expected in the end..it turns out better!Brian the HOT bartender is funny and sexy, there is instant chemistry there but he wasn't her 'target'.Some parts may be predictable but to be honest it was a brilliant, light, rom com type read. It had sass, humour and hotness! Loved it and can't wait to read the next!Highly recommend!

A simple read that made me smile but didn’t quite hit all the right buttons.
So, the plot doesn’t particularly appeal although I did find it fun to read about. It has a stereotypical feel; deserted and discarded female gets helped back on her feet by best-friends who know exactly the right thing to do. Instigate a one night stand. It’s a little clichéd and tired but I thought the writing really helped to give this book some punch. The mockery between them at times is so droll that I found myself a little taken with this friendship group.“I thought I was gonna have to get you some syrupto go along with that twat waffle attitude.”Some of the writing does take a slang like edge (why do authors feel the need to?) but it just about works. For me as I’ve said in so, so, so, many reviews recently tighten it up, make it feel a little more intelligent and it’ll work better a whole. Get rid of the word ‘gonna’ please I can barely type it here. I thought the chemistry between Caroline and Brian was really hot and heady and I liked the constant toying and froing between her and Ryan and then back. It added a little heat, a little mystery. I think the characters could have been developed a little more especially Brian, I thought he definitely took too much of a back seat and could have easily been pushed to the forefront. I also liked that the ending wasn’t wrapped up perfectly; some readers want the ending wrapped up and given to them on a plate, I like a little intrigue.A few grumbles; I guess for me it is a little clichéd, and the plot does feel a little tired. Maybe I’ve read to many of these types of books recently but just give me more. I thought the plot lacked a little decency, one night stand and all that and for me it doesn’t appeal as much in that sense but maybe I’m just being a little naïve. But, I did enjoy it. I thought it was a little tacky, a little corny and a little too much but I enjoyed it. A simple read that made me smile but didn’t quite hit all the right buttons.*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
