Disappointing performance and no custom tunes.
I bought the tuner for my 2019 Mustang GT primarily to add horsepower, improved gas mileage was not a concern so I can't comment on that. However, the HP increase using the pre-loaded 93 octane tune was disappointing. I noticed a slight boost in acceleration, but that could be attributed to the cold air intake and throttle body I installed at the same time as the tuner. Also disappointing were the adjustable options on the pre-loaded tunes. The tuner allows you to select if you have a JLT cold air intake, presumably for better performance, but no other CAI manufacturers are featured. So, the tuner would not pair up with my Roush CAI. Also, I have a BBK 85 mm throttle body, which the tuner would not allow adjustments for. The techs at SCT told me I needed a custom tune to take advantage of the aftermarket parts I installed. Which leads me to my next point.SCT does not write custom tunes for their own products. For the price of this tuner, they should. The description says SCT has a network of hundreds of professional tuners who can provide a custom tune for this programmer, but none of the contacts in their network near my location was able to do a custom tune. One of them was out of business. I contacted SCT customer support and they told me to do a internet search for professional tuners, which I did. Out of the 3 I contacted, none of them returned my calls or emails. After several attempts to get in touch with one who was within 40 miles of my location, he quoted me $400 for a single custom tune. And that is without getting the car on a dyno.Also, a quick note on SCT customer service - while they are quick to respond to emails for help, the information they provide is not accurate... at least in my experience. After I loaded the 93 octane tune, the tuner showed my current flash as 87. I contacted SCT to ask what current flash meant and was told it was the current tune loaded on my car. Also, I read the same thing on the internet when I was troubleshooting. So, I assumed the tune did not load properly. I restored the car to factory, re-loaded the 93 octane tune, ran a diagnostic on my car with the tuner and it again said the current flash was 87. Contacted customer service again and asked if the tuner was broken, this time they told me the current flash has nothing to do with the current tune. Confused and frustrated, I restored the car to factory and returned the product.For the price of this tuner, SCT should provide more customization on the pre-loaded tunes and/or provide custom tunes directly. Next time I buy a tuner, I'll go with a competitor who offers free tunes for life with their products for the same price I paid for this SCT.

Hidden catch
Because they do not disclose this anywhere, I will tell you now. If you own a chrysler, dodge or jeep manufactured 2015 and beyond, you will have to remove your pcm and send it some place to have it unlocked, I found this out after speaking to tech support after holding for well over an hour. I sat in my garage for hours trying to get this thing to work only to find out my pcm is locked by the auto manufacturer, here I am sitting there like an idiot trying to get this thing to work, I'm pissed to say the least. This is more of a gripe with the auto manufacturer but I totally feel like the maker of this device has chosen to omit this information which is bs. This has caused me great inconvenience. I returned via amazon, that was easy at least. Get the pedal commander it has a workaround for the pcm.

Bricked my truck ECU after most recent update.
Initially product worked alright. Very confusing menus and very slow flash times. No real noticeable difference in HP or torque even on the 93 octane tunes. Really the only thing it improved was being able to change the tire size and the transmission shift points.When I recently went to change the tune to the preloaded 93 tow the device had a new update. After installing this update and reflashing to the 93 tow tune I could start my truck but it idled very rough and died. I tried to connect the tuner to the computer but could not use the software to remove the update. I have tried to contact SCT about the issue and they are not responding to my emails.Overall I wish I had never gotten this tuner as it may have initially worked for a short time but the headaches it has caused are not worth the close to 400$ price tag.Buyer beware not worth the time and money.

The best aftermarket accessory for the ecoboost.
This SCT BDX tuner is way better than i expected. The preloaded 87 octane street tune changed almost every aspect of my ecoboost. It feels more like a sports car now. No way I'm going back to the factory tune. I can't wait to order a custom tune. It feels lime a stiff spring under the accelerator pedal. Boost pressurised immediately. Safer for pulling out into fast moving traffic. Not a single place in town could read the codes except the ford dealership at 130 a pop. It has already paid for itself.

Got me going fast again!
Bought this for my 2020 f150 but be sure that when you buy this you look up your year not just make and model. I bought this thinking that it would give me 3 tunes like is advertised however it did not. I called SCT who directed me to THEIR website which clearly said this was a custom tune only device for my truck. That being said 5star performance out of South Carolina does work with this device and sent me a fat nasty tune that took my eco boost to another level. Fastest 0-60 has been a 4.2 and fastest I’ve had it is 147mph. I highly recommend this combo. Also I very much enjoy the display features for 2020 f150 3.5 eco boost

Error codes and tech support is no help
2010 f150 lariat. Tuner takes 45 minutes to save stock settings then gives error code 110d4. Tech support hours are my work hours m-f 8-5. I have to rush home on days I have nothing to do after work to spend an hour each time and nothing is working. I'm giving them one more chance and I'm just returning it to get something that actually works.

It does the job.
I bought this tuner to program my 2019 6.7. It is a decent tuner. Ease of use would be a 6 out of 10. It could be a little more user friendly. The navigation of this tuner isn't really self explanatory and the directions aren't much help either. You just have to fumble around through it until you figure it out. The tunes that come pre-loaded are good tunes. I really like the performance tune. I do wish they had put a little more effort into making this tuner. I bought the SCT Livewire for my 6.0 and I really loved that tuner. I wish their tuner for the new 6.7 Powerstrokes were more like the Livewire. This one seems a little generic.

X4 or BDX? You decide.
I should have just waited for tuning to come out for the X4.The BDX can only be locked to one truck. If you decide to return the truck to stock and then tune another truck, you’ll need to pay an “unlocking fee”. With the X4, you got 5 unlocks.The BDX Is slightly faster than the X4 so load times and tuning times are shorter.Really seems like it’s the same thing, just updated hardware and less freedom.This can not change tire sizes on 2017 ford trucks or tune transmission, yet.The box that my BDX showed up in had obviously been opened up once before (rips and creases) and had been taped up. The plastic screen cover had been peeled back and then put back. Everything was included and new though.Would I do it again? Probably not.The canned 93 tune for the 3.5L ecoboost is crazy powerful. Pretty crazy for a little increased fueling and 2 pounds more boost.

Over priced, additional charges after, poor software
I bought this for my '99 Mustang GT and I messaged them and asked before hand if there were any additional charges after and they flat out lied and said no. When I loaded the 1 tune that was included with the tuner the performance was worse than the stock tune. At highway speed in 5th gear it kept losing power. I had to reload the factory tune to get it to run properly.I'm very disappointed with this company. For the money that we pay for these there should be better options and some free tunes. This looks like a scam to me.

Contact seller before buying it on Amazon. Amazon said it fits my truck and the product didn’t! I’m not saying it’s a bad product. I’m saying it’s bad advertising!!

Unsupported vehicle 2015 Dodge Charger SXT
This does not fit my car, although it says it's comparable. And now I'm stuck with it cuz my car was parked for the winter and didn't try it until after the return date. This does not work on a 3015 Dodge Charger SXT 3.6 l.
