Best Product for Guitarists since the apps themselves
I own an iPhone 3GS and it fits in the Guitar Sidekick beautifully. It's snug and secure. One big time plus is the phone can remain in its case and still fit fine in the Sidekick. There's nothing more annoying than having to remove your phone from its protective case just to fit in a dock or something!I use several guitar apps, to include TabToolKit, GuitarToolKit, etc. I was able to handily tune my guitar with the phone in its mount. Another plus. The phone also sits high enough above the fret board so it wont interfere with your fingering. Again, another plus.So to conclude, the Sidekick holds my iPhone securely, reading tablature is a breeze when it's mounted, and it doesn't interfere with playing at all.My only complaint is that I needed to literally use a butterknife to open up the clamp when I took it out of the package. I thought it was superglued closed! Beyond that minor inconvenience, I highly recommend this mount for anyone that uses their smartphone as a guitar aid. 5 big stars!

Great Replacement for Music Stand and Fake Book
Really neat!! It makes a compact package when on the go with Lanikai concert uke; it fits fine on mine, though it apparently won't fit on all concert ukes, per another review. I used to have to pack up music stand, thick fake book and other apparatus to be able to play on the go. Now, I can put everything in my uke case or gig bag and I'm set. I do have to disassemble the GSK, if I want to put it in case, which makes me nervous about posible breakage (plastic upper part). If handled carefully, this could last a long time. Now I can walk around and play music with iPod right in my face--almost too close. The only problem with using this with uke, is that it becomes neck-heavy, with weight of IPod--still very usable and the best solution yet for on-the-go guitar and uke players. I use it all the time.

Bye-bye, music stand, hello free hands!
Although the idea is great, it does not work well with classical guitars where the strings wrap over tightly and through the headstock. Also the larger phones are somewhat heavy as I have an iPhone 6 and it does not necessarily stay positioned quite as well as I'd like it to. The main disappointment I have in the product is that it came with no warranty and I fear the clip part which is made of some sort of plastic may not last long as there is quite a bit of pressure on it once it's fastened. Are replacements available and/or guaranteed? At roughly $20 I would sure hope so. Otherwise, and if so then it's awesome and I would give it five stars!

Works well but not what I'd expected and may eventually fail?
I wanted a device to hold my iPhone attached to my guitar. This does that.My only concern is that the way it attaches is to clamp onto the strings at the top of the headstock, above the nut. This is a problem because I play a Stratocaster electric guitar which uses a tremolo bridge and which has been modified to allow the strings to more freely stretch from the tuners, over roller trees, across a rollerball nut. Unfortunately, this design inhibits that free movement!A second problem is that I hang my guitar on a guitar stand that uses a hooked claw at it's top to hold the guitar up by the curves beneath it's head stock. Unfortunately, this is also where this device is located and because of this, I can no longer hang my guitar on it's stand!I do remove and reattach it but because the clasp on this device that clamps it's metal pieces together over the strings is very insubstantial plastic, I expect that it will eventually break causing this $20 device to be useless.Other than these problems, it works well enough as described, to hold my iPhone attached to my guitar. For this reason, I may eventually try to it to use a clamp for attaching it to the wood instead of the strings. The hinged metal, over string clamp was a surprise. Look carefully at the photo to see this. Between the two gray metal, hinged pieces are two strips of rubber material so that it doesn't vibrate when attached to the strings. These flat metal parts are held together where the plastic parts of the clamp slip over them and are held in place by a small black plastic tab, seen in the middle of the photo. It seems to be delicate to me? When that tab is used many times, removing and attaching to the strings, I suspect it will eventually break off. Buyer beware!

Anyone giving this a good review just doesn't realize their guitar is no longer ...
This has one major flaw that makes it unusable. It connects to the strings rather than the headstock. By attaching to the stings it takes your guitar out of tune. Anyone giving this a good review just doesn't realize their guitar is no longer in tune. I wish they would make it connect to the headstock because it is a good idea and could totally work. It's a shame really. I hope they change it.

If you have an iPhone and a Guitar, this is the perfect accessory.
I wasn't sure how this unit was going to work when I made the purchase. I was also a bit concerned by a couple of the negative reviews. I received the Sidekick, clamped it to the strings above the top fret and have been totally satisfied! Ultimate Guitar App on my iPhone which allows me to have all the songs, chords and lyrics at my command. Having the ability to hold my iPhone 6 in place while the music scrolls is wonderful. I'm no longer tethered to a music stand. Love this product.

Tweaks your strings
While this device seems well-made, it has a couple of serious issues:1) It puts so much torque on your strings, with iPhone 4 in place, that the treble E is almost lifted out of the nut such that it doesn't play properly. This is on a high-end Strat-style guitar. I assume that problem goes away with a nut-side string lock gizmo as in the photograph, but that doesn't help me.2) The swivel mechanism doesn't allow the iPhone to be positioned for direct viewing.A minor issue is that the universal spring-loaded clamp allows some play in the iPhone positioning. The first two issues were enough for me to return it.

Vraiment pratique
Facile à installer, très pratique,Je trouve l’attach Plastique un peu légère, en vue du prix, j’aur aimé quelque chose de plus robuste.
