Good for price, easy to mod.
I purchased a number of these for a home arcade project - with intention to mod right out of the box.First impressions are that they're generally not bad - really great for the price.Stick is a bit spongy and doesn't feel that great to me - but the buttons are actually nice and clicky. Also these joysticks are really neatly wired inside and the components can be easily removed (no soldering required) and just about enough room to work with inside.I did notice in the short time I kept the stick un-modded that the buttons did regularly need to be clipped back in place which would have been a downer if I intended to keep them that wayLike I said though, I got these with the intention of ripping all the components out. It's a pretty easy stick to mod - although a little be snug; I managed to add 30mm Seimitsu screw-in arcade buttons (PS-14-GN) and a Seimitsu Joystick (the LS-32) just about fit with a SE mounting plate - no additional holes had to be drilled. The case did require the longer vertical SE mounting plate for the joystick, a squarer or horizontally orientated mounting plate would not have fit.All in all good for the price. I wouldn't use as a main, but these are good backups for multiplayer - particularly once you've replaced the joysticks.

Button's sometimes miss
Buttons need to be struck centrally and firmly but overall good quality item

Affordable and fun
I bought this for use with a Raspberry Pi/Retropie/MAME setup, and it's ideal. Keeping in mind the price, the unit is pretty sturdy and the buttons (while not being very 'clicky') have a good travel and feel. The joystick is perhaps a little too light for my taste but it's perfectly fine. The case is glossy black and a bit of a fingerprint magnet.I'd have no hesitation in recommending it.
