Empty Quarter: Volume 2 (Darcie Lock series)

I'm an adult reading my teen's books and these books are both gripping and age-relevant.

This is a great read. I haven't read the first book yet. But it still made sense. A great read to any one.

Girl on the Run: Empty Quarter Book 2 (Darcie Lock) This book is the second book and is just as good as the first-Ringmaster! In this series Darcie goes on a cruise which she thinks she has been put on because she is a bad person and her family don't love her, however her grandfather has actually put her on the cruise to spy on, befriend and protect the prime ministers daughter. Darcie doesn't even realise she is on this mission but is however completing it perfectly as she becomes best friends with her. Christopher Lock (grandfather) feels very guilty however when Darcie and the other children from the boat are taken hostages and the people who have kidnapped them in the desert realise that one of the children is a spy (they find a tracking device inside Darcie's phone) Because Darcie is unaware that she is on a mission she is shocked to realise that that they leave her in the desert to die and kill one of her friends and take away her best friend to bribe the prime minister. This book has an amazing plot- make sure you buy and read book 1 first though! I love these books, really worth the read.

Darcie is back! This time she is told by her parents she is going on an educational cruise Holiday. It turns out to be a holiday for bad, disobedient teenagers. Darcie is convinced that her parents don't love her, so she sabbotages the 'Fresh Start' program. Suddenly things get bad, a group of terrorists kill Darcie's friend and kidnap her and two other kids. Darcie must have all her wits about her when she is left to die in the barren desert. Can she survive? -This is a great book! Full of adventures and excitement, a real page-turner.

This book is about a girl called Darcie Lock who finds herself sent off on a cruise joining other children who have parents that either want to get rid of them or get them `finished off.' They are then split up into groups and every day they have the chance to be a Pharaoh and give people orders, a slave who has to receive orders and the cooks who have to receive orders from the slaves who have been ordered from the Pharaohs. She is having the time of her life with her new friends on this cruise, until she has been told that she was being disruptive and sabotaging the `Fresh Start' plan. This book is amazing. It gets you extremely hooked and gets you reading for hours at a time. I would definitely recommend it to friends!

This book met all the expectations i had for it and was just as good as the first one. In this book Darcie is sent on a cruise not knowing that it is more of a reform course for unruly kids and the reason she was sent was to spy on the President's daughter. Again she had no idea of this. The plot climaxes when there are some unwelcome intruders to their course leaving Darcie and two other kids in mortal danger. With some old faces and new faces this book is definitely worth reading.

empty quarter is a great book! i would seriously recomend it. i couldnt put it down and ended up reading it all in 1 night! (i was up untill 4am!) darcie is on a cruise ship with an organisation to help problem kids, but she finds herself and two other people being held hostage in the egyptian dessert! its really thrilling and easy to read
