Not the same book as pictured or reviewed. It's clearly been changed/updated!
Clearly this book has been changed as there wasn't much of a story to it at all. Every page was basically the same thing "Don't open this and don't touch that" VERY disappointing for the price! Far too expensive and my book does not have disappearing ink as stated on the picture on here. It has "petrifying pop ups (of which there are 2!) and fearsome flaps! Not very happy with this purchase at all. I feel it was £7.99 wasted.

Great, fun kids book
Got this from the library, and went straight out and bought it, as they kids barely wanted to read anything else while it was in the house.Entertaining story, good pop-ups, and good magic panel for the finale. Can understand why the kids want to read it again and again.Highly recommended.

Grandchildren go straight to it
Part of the appeal of this book is in the actual title words. It is entertaining but not actually frightening, so is very suitable for age 3+ and it does not give them nightmares. The grandchildren talk about the book a lot and dive straight into the book box, to find this specific book.

This version is still good, but the original was amazing
.Wanted to give the author a 5 star. The book is not as described, this is true. However I have contacted Andrew Weale and the original copy is no longer in print. This version is still good, but the original was amazing.

Lots to entertain
Winner of the Red House children's book award, you can soon see why. Lots of flaps and pop outs woven around a spooky story which builds into an interesting ending that requires a hot hand over special magic ink to reveal the culprit.
