The microphone according to the people I talk to on discord say that it sounds great. Great noise cancellation, super nice sound, and the band that goes over your head does a really good job of keeping the top of the headphones from squishing into your head. It also looks like it’s replaceable in case it wears out, which is very nice. I will say that the c plug that comes with it is kind of bulky, and I am very nervous about bumping it and damaging it by mistake, so instead of it being a little USB dongle, that I can leave in, I have to pull it out of the computer every time I’m done using it. Otherwise though it’s been a really great headset, especially for someone who’s on a budget but still needs high-quality. Highly recommended. Review: Sound quality - I just got these and they are great. The sound quality is pretty good, more bass then the arctis 1’s That I had which is a plus. Audio on game is also amazing. Audio sound will vary depending on the person. I will say though that the audio right out of the box isn't the greatest. If you're someone who is getting this for their PC I highly reccomend you download the software so that you can tweak the audio to your liking. Another thing I wanna add is that the mic is just alright. not the best but it is a gaming headset but The audio from it is clear enough that your teamates will understand what you're saying. The comfortability of these is also just great. There is a slight pinch but it shouldn’t be a huge deal as it goes away as you wear them. As of 9/23/2024 These headphones no longer have the pinch and fit snuggly around my ears. Overall, they’re amazing, especially if you get them discounted. Sadly the Arctis 7 had no issues and were infinitely better, but SteelSeries replaced them with these. There are some pros like USB-C, but the forced PC software and PC controlled audio (vs the old on-board management) were downgrades. Then after 5-mos I got crackling once in a while along with a loud snap 1-3x a day on the left ear cup. They also freeze up and need a hard reset once every 2mos. I tried some alternatives but unfortunately SteelSeries just has the best quality for the price when it comes to wireless headphones. Just a shame they hit perfection then downgraded their own device with the 7+. **Q: Can anyone help me fix chatmix? The right dial on mine doesn't work.** A: Download the SteelSeries GG application and enable Sonar. It should be fairly straightforward to set that up. For whatever reason they decided you need an app to allow the Chatmix wheel on the headset to work. Very silly imo. However, you'll note with the 7+ specifically, this will break device fallback (when you unplug your headset it will not automatically swap back to your speakers). To resolve this, exit the SteelSeries GG application.
