Terrific and hugely helpful
As the partner of someone with ADHD I found this book incredibly helpful in understanding what they are going through and how I can be more supportive. It's easy to read, packed full of great advice from experts and funny, which is a bonus! I bought several copies to give friends as gifts.

It’s like chatting with an old friend who gets you.
As someone within whose household it’s becoming a running joke at the volume of books that I order weekly only to sit gathering dust with a bookmark 1/5th of the way in on a shelf, my wonderful ADHD hyperfous and love for my friend has seen me read it from cover to cover in 24 hours, it’s not only brilliant but a genuine breath of fresh air.It tears down the stigma and misconceptions with humour, honesty, and a healthy dose of real talk. It combines personal experience with science, painting a clear picture of what ADHD really is in adults (spoiler alert: it’s not just about bouncing off the walls). It’s like you’re chatting with a friend who gets you.But is it for you?- If you’re tired of feeling misunderstood.- If you’re ready to ditch the shame and embrace your strengths.- If you want actionable tips for work, relationships, and everything in between.- If someone in your life is going through their own journey and you want to understand it better.- If you want an intersectional approach to ADHDThen, Yes!

Useful and important
Well researched and written - and funny! - about the process of getting an ADHD diagnosis and the impact the condition has on adult life, along with case studies of other adults and advice from doctors and other qualified professionals. Very useful for anyone who has had a diagnosis and is wondering 'what now?' as well as for their loved ones to understand what it means and how to support.

Amazing informative book
I would highly recommend this book, whether it's for those already diagnosed, awaiting diagnosis, think they might have adhd or family/friends/sceptics of those with ADHD.This book is informative, is back up with science, and includes so many descriptions of people's lived experiences of both growing up and living with undiagnosed adhd and how understanding their condition, diagnosis and different treatments have helped them. We need more people like Kat who can write so articulately, and share about this condition which can be incredibly misunderstood and belittle by so many.

If in doubt, READ IT!
The book delicately weaves together Kat's personal stories, experiences from others, and a professional perspective. Kat has such a comforting, witty narrative. It's a digestible read that provides incredibly valuable insights. I have felt seen, understood, and so grateful!

Don't recommend...
I really wanted to enjoy this book but sorry to say I found it really boring and with no real insight. The format is the author writing a few paragraphs at the begining of the chapters and then paragraphs and quotes from people the author had interviewed for their take on ADHD.I managed about 3 quarters of the book and gave up. I passed it on to a friend and they managed half before it went to Oxfam. I was disappointed as the reviews had been good, but I found it mindnumbingly dull. I was expecting it to be humourous or at least some humour would have been nice.I also felt more thought could have gone into how ADHDers read...long boring chapters didn't inspire me.I appreciate that the quotes from the interviewees broke it up slightly but there was nothing of real interest. I certainly didn't come away thinking I'd learnt anything or had food for thought. There are definitely better books about ADHD out there that are more user friendly and genuinely insightful and funny.
