Davina: Toned In 10 [DVD]

Fantastic
I’ve always done the Davina dvds (although I wasn’t a fan of the Ed ones) and really enjoyed them. After 5 months of doing no exercise and drinking too much wine, snacking on crisps and scoffing my daughter’s leftovers, I decided action needed to be taken before I covered the mirrors. I bought this dvd, an exercise ball and 1kg weights and kicked wine o clock and snacking to the curb. My body has changed already and I am only 3 weeks in. These exercises are hard, especially the stomach ones, but I know with time I will get stronger and find it easier. I love everything about this dvd...it is really uplifting, challenging, has a good soundtrack and Sarah the instructor is really inspiring. I have already lost that square shape to my stomach and it is now much flatter. It’s all going in the right direction and I look forward to doing it all year and hope they do another one together for January 2019.Update June 2018-I did this dvd 5 days a week, doing the warm up, 2 sections and the abs every time and in 3 months I have lost 2 stone. Of course I have been eating well and not scoffing, but this dvd has got me into shape. I now do it 3 times a week and allow wine at weekends (you have to stay sane right?) and my weight has stabilised. I attach before and after for inspiration! This dvd is the best exercise dvd I’ve ever had, and I’ve been doing them since the early nineties, so have seen them all ha ha!

My Favourite Davina DVD by Far
I have all of Davina's DVD and I'm a huge fan. This is definitely my favourite. Yes, it's very different from what she's done before but it's time for a change. I've done cardio barre before (this is similar to that) and find it to be a really effective way to tone and lose weight, without the whole jumping round the living room for an hour swinging weights around. Some of the sections are quite similar and you'll need a chair to help you balance. The workout is done barefoot as it's quite low impact (although the HIIT section is an excellent cardio section) but it will really work your muscles. I can feel the lactic acid building up and the next day my thighs and bottom were sore so I know I had a good workout! I have every workout DVD you can imagine - Jillian Michaels, Jeanette Jenkins, Charotte Crosby, 10 Minute Solutions, the Firm, Jane Fonda, Frankie Essex, boxing, yoga, pilates. This DVD is worth the purchase. If you like your cardio, mix it up. Do this one day and say Davina 5 Week Fit or Fit in 15 the next day.

Great new direction for Davina!
I have all Davina’s DVD’s and have been working out using them for nearly 10 years. I loved Jackie & Mark (had to buy SuperBody Workout again as I wore it out!) and found Ed’s good but very dull. They have all been great for maintaining my weight loss but I have always had to supplement them with others to get proper definition (Mel B Totally Fit/Tracey Anderson). I think this new DVD, however, with Sarah is excellent! I love the mix of HIIT, Pilates and arms and glutes moves similar to the Tracey Anderson Method, that I also love! If you combine this with some running, dancing or similar cardio, it should create a really toned figure, I’m looking forward to the results as I have been slacking off a bit the last few months! I will be keeping my trainers on though, I don’t think all of the sections should be done in bare feet if you wish to avoid any little injuries, that is my only criticism. Overall, I think it’s a fab new direction for Davina.

Should be called Toned in 30 not 10
If you are going to do this DVD 'properly' then you should always complete the 10 min warm up, the 10 min cool down PLUS your 10 min choice of workout in between therefore if you want to get toned, you really have to commit at least 30 mins rather than the title suggests of only 10 mins.I haven't been a massive fan of her other DVDs - always found Davina a bit OTT and irritating so I was quite glad when she announced she wouldn't actually be taking the class, just a participant in the background. However, the main lady lacks so little warmth/personality that I found myself wanting Davina to come up with some of her annoying quips just to break the monotony. The music during the warm up is really good and motivating however after that it really goes down hill. It's very bland and boring and doesn't really inspire you to really go for it. It's like they lost their license to play well-known tunes. The sections are incredibly challenging but quite interesting. I am going skiing soon so I'm using it mainly for leg strength and I can really feel the burn. You will need a pilates ball and a set of weights to really get the most of these workouts.

then I did the arm and abs section then the cool down. I will do this roughly 3 times ...
Totally different from Davinas usual work out dvds, I decided to do the 15 minute cardio from fit in 15 as my warm up, as I didn't want to warm up with no trainers on, my back plays up so i thought I'd do that first, then I did the arm and abs section then the cool down. I will do this roughly 3 times a week.I only started it today, so have to give it ago, I know it felt like I hadn't worked up much of a sweat with the moves, but you know your working your muscles.I will update with any results as they appear, doing this is better than nothing at all. So go and try it, you have nothing to lose.Been doing this DVD for 8 weeks now, I have lost 12lbs and inches of my arms, waist and legs, my skin feels firmer and looking forward to the next 8 weeks achievements. It is fun, you feel it, but it works.

Totally Different from Davina's Usual Workouts
I have most of Davina's workouts but a couple from the more recent years I didn't like so much. This one is great - I love pilates and some of this is very similar. Also great to just do in bare feet (have even done first thing in my pyjamas). My stomach ached after doing the Abs section the first time - I did get a pilates ball from Amazon. Great that is broken down in to different sections of the body - I have really enjoyed the abs, glutes and arms sections. The only thing is, because I downloaded it rather than buy the DVD, I can't seem to find a way where you can just jump to the session - there doesn't seem to be a menu. So I kind of have to remember that each one is 10 minutes and scroll through. There may be a way around this though.I have downloaded it on to my phone too so it's always with me!!
