Hollowed Bones (A DI Fenella Sallow Crime Thriller Book 5)

Really enjoyed this mystery. The characters were engaging as always, portrayed not as super cops but as regular, dedicated people who were detectives and good at their jobs but still have character flaws like normal people. The plot always had several layers and just when you thought you had figured it out, it changed. Great surprise ending.

Enjoyed this writer as I’ve read more of the series. Lots of characters to keep track of that serve no real purpose other than to muddle the water of the actual murderer, which is good in that it keeps you guessing but can sometimes leave you with loose ends. The old guy that tried to set himself on fire and kept saying the nonsense words, we never found out why?

I am enjoying the Fenella Sallow mystery series. I thought this was the best one in the series so far.

This is the fifth book from the Fenella Sallow series that I've read. Although the stories are pretty good and I like Fenella and Dexter, the author has continued thru these five books to do some things that are driving me crazy. In this book, there is constant reference to Tanya's "gold-hoop earrings." Why? Also, and this has improved some from the first book of this series, the author consistently refers to certain characters by their full title and name throughout, i.e., "PC Beth Finn." After the first couple of chapters, I think we've gotten the idea who she is and it could be PC Finn, Beth, Finn, anything but "PC Beth Finn," over and over. I've read many of the reviews on the first five books and no one else seems to be bothered by this. Is it just me?

This book is hard to put down, once you’ve started it, so pick it up when you have an abundance of time, and then enjoy

Complete series is quite good. Characters real. Plot intriguing. Always the unlikely one is the villain. Good to see the higher ups caught in their own web.

Some stories are good and then there are some that send chills down your spine, this one has chills. All the books I have read in this series are so interesting and actually fun to read. The characters are great. I feel this book is the best one though. It has mysteries and murders and ghost stories and an old castle. If you like mysteries that really keep the pages turning so fast you can hardly read the words then grab all of these books but especially Hallowed Bones.

I like the books N.C.Lewis writes. Interestingmost of the time , but it did drag on until I just wanted to be done with it.I do enjoy the characters, very real like.

This is second time reading and I was still intrigued with the story.Very different. With great main characters.Thank you.

If you like English murder mysteries, this is a great read. The whole series has been thoroughly enjoyable. Quick reads that you don't want to end.Looking forward to the next one!
