The filter chokes eliminate RF interference from getting into my printer
More than just an interconnect cable, the built in "chokes" absorb the stray RF generated by my ham radio. This stopped the "confusion" my printer was having using a cheaper cable. If you are getting "strange" activity from your device - the problem could be due to RF. Chokes absorb the RF that is traveling on the "shield" (outer braid) of a shielded cable. When they absorb the RF they turn the RF into heat. Of course the amount of heat is less than trivial - no fire or other danger; you wont be able to feel the chokes heat up - not at all. Glitches & "strange behavior" were eliminated. Well worth the additional cost.

Perfect USB cable for connecting computer to Amateur radio
My radio is one of the early generation radios using USB to connect to a computer instead of a serial cable. The radio has a fused USB connection that is easily taken out by stray radio frequency. This cable is well suited to protect the radio with a shield and ferrite chokes on each end.

Perfect for digital audio
My speakers worked fine for me from the time I bought them last May, but when things started getting colder, I noticed they would occasionally cut out when the heat came on. The manufacturer's website said this was a sync issue caused by RF interference and suggested the optical or analog inputs. I gave up and went to analog. Well, the other day I got the wild idea that a better-shielded cable might help, and a little googling also made me want ferrite chokes. I also figured a shorter cable would also help just by virtue of being an inferior antenna. So I found this and pulled the trigger immediately after reading M. Kong's review where he dissected one and verified the shielding and chokes.Well, this seems to have done the trick. I CAN make them hiccup if I fiddle with my thermostat to make the heat go on and off repeatedly and very, very quickly for ten or fifteen seconds, but with the old cable, I could always make the audio lose sync with fewer than ten cycles, whereas now it takes some work, and I can now listen to music uninterrupted (I have been for three hours now). When I bought it, I hadn't even read the numerous other reviews that recommended this cable for the same reason I got it for, but they're all correct. This is a near-perfect cable for DACs, USB speakers, and USB headphone amps.
