I have to say I disagree with the other reviewers, I was disappointed when I pulled this out, it feels rally quite flimsy (especially the fastener - like a thin wire of an old badge). The body is hollow and is made with really cheap metal - feels alomst plastic. The finish / detail is very basic also, although I accept it is stil quite nice / cute.I could probably get something of this quality for the same price or cheaper from an independent market trader in London though. I would not expect to pay this much by mail order for what effectively feels like a nice badge.If I hadn't left myself short of time I would probably return it and buy an alternative - I could get a solid silver version without paying too much more.Having said that, if you dont mind spending £30 on soemething more like a badge and lightweight is something of an advantage, then you could see things differently.Myself, I wanted something that felt a little more substantial and expensive and this does not.

cute little brooch, the stripes are black and gold and the wings are more of a copper color, had the stripes been yellow I would have left a 5 star

I loved this brooch but found the pin to secure to clothing rather difficult to manipulate. Still this wouldn't stop me from purc hasing such a cute well finished brooch. Very effective placed on shoulder rather than lapel.

This is a gift for my daughter's birthday - her job involves research into pollination - so this will have meaning for her -& she loves bees. It is nice quality for the price and is of a weight suitable for either a jacket or jumper.
