Take it from me, I'm a UKCAT veteran who has sat the test 4 times now, this book WILL drastically increase your score. The last 3 tries i've gotten 670, 675 and 677.5 average and its cost me a place at medical school every time. I purchased this book on the 1st July, leaving me with 2 weeks before the test, and today I scored 753, including 890 in Quantitative reasoning. The only difference in my prep has been this book.For people who cannot afford to go on a course or go to a public school like myself, this will be the best £15 any applicant will ever spend.It is truly a revelation, and I'd recommend it to anyone, from a UKCAT novice to a veteran like myself, and it works no matter how late you leave it, as long as you do all of the questions. A must buy.

I would highly recommend this book, bought this book for my son as preparation for the exam - it seemed to work as he got a good score. Without this preparation, I am sure he would not have been as successful. The book was well structured with each section describing how to answer the question type with techniques and tips, especially useful for the abstract reasoning which seems to be a black art to me. There were plenty of varied questions within each section so it did not get boring, we even had a bit of fun doing them together. Again there was a great deal of helpful information with each answer explaining why the answer was correct- a real help for situational judgement which does need quite a bit of practice.

This book is very helpful. If your English is not that good probably you find yourself a little bit at the receiving end. As someone coming from a legal background I have enjoyed so much the VR. You got to have a questioning mind for you to see the essence of each explanation. However it is better to couple this book with UKAT official website questions. I recommend this book. It's a great book but it requires time. You must start a couple of weeks early to make sure that you go over the book at least 2 times. There is a lot of questions in this book, so it's good for practice in UNTIMED conditions, since not all questions conform to the format present in the actual UKCAT. Under timed conditions, this book can only offer 1 mock test, so use it wisely. Also, there are quite a few errors/ typos within this book (too many for my liking), so don't doubt your answers before you read through all of the text explaining the answer, an example of this is in quantitative reasoning where the book thinks 25% of 1000 is 200, not 250.

Good selection of questions, although if you purchased the 600 book be aware that it has all the same questions from there plus some additions. Worth a buy though. Got the new SJT questions and different types of the AR and VR you will come across in the UKCAT.

Very useful. Really recommend it. The abstract reasoning in the book is actually much harder than the average level ones on the test. So if you can handle the ones in this book then you're sorted for the test. Good luck!!

Extremely useful. So many questions to practice with, and since the questions here are quite difficult, I found the actual UKCAT to be a breeze! Would highly recommend!
