DriverGenius USB 3.0 HD Video Capture Device Box - 1080p 30Hz, Metal

I really like this capture device now. After having dealt with what I thought was an issue with the unit or probably the signal I was feeding it, this is now a trusty part of my streaming setup. It does:Full and Partial YUV601 and 709.The settings that worked out for me best were 709 full with 1080P 60fps on mjpegOne thing to note before you panic: this device needs a USB 3.0 port and it's not joking about it either. I had various issues come and go depending on which way the wind blew until I realised that they stayed regardless of the signal I fed it. 1080p24, 30, 59.94, 60, 8 bit, 10 bit, ALL-I or LongGop, didn't matter, I'd have some random scanlines pop in and out as well as a 20 px tall horizontal black bar flickering at the top.Once I connected it to a USB 3.0 port on the motherboard rather through a powered hub and then the motherboard, all of those issues went away completely. Now I have my Panasonic GH5 pumping 100mbps 1080p 60fps signal into it and it looks beautiful.Note #2: there's a 300-ish msec delay on the picture. For those of you who get audio from a different source, such as a low-latency USB microphone, you'll have to delay the sound by about 300msec to match it with the picture.Brilliant bit of kit, I'm very happy with it not just for the price. I'm happy with it period.

This is a basic little device for recording gameplay footage from a console via a HDMI cable. It records to your PC via USB 3.0.Setup is very simple, anyone who has used OBS or a video capture device before will get it working in minutes.Anyone else, follow the instructions and you will be fine.The main thing to watch out for during use is that it needs a full power + full speed USB 3.0 port, and by this I mean one of the rear motherboard ports on your PC. USB hubs, even powered ones, will probably not work. I tried three, all had problems.Encoding is via H.264, which although now an old standard and not particularly efficient, does a decent job and is compatible with basically everything.During use the unit does get a bit hot, but it’s nothing to worry about. Just don’t leave it lying about on a carpet, I have it vertical so that convection can cool it.Overall I have to say it does the job okay, however the price seems a little steep considering the electronics inside this thing. I suppose it’s a bit of a niche market, hence the price.

I've tried changing settings, stopping and re-starting, etc, but I simply cannot get this to work with my PC setup.I already have OBS installed and it works flawlessly with my other hdmi usb stick. I was hoping to use this as a pass-through HDMI recorder for Xbox gaming, etc, however this won't work with my setup and hdmi input video stutters, jams up and there's no sound what-so-ever.Maybe it just doesn't like my setup, but it seems odd when the same input device and usb ports work perfectly with my other device.Unfortunately I cannot recommend, but that doesn't mean that it won't work OK for others. The unit is built well, is otherwise simple to use and has a good usb cable with it.

Got the opportunity to test this capture video card and I am amazed from the results.Below is a list of things to highlight from this product:Pros:- Really good build quality with metallic case, feels really nice in hand and robust- Input and output HDMI capability to just bypass the signal to TV or monitor while capturing it- USB 3.0 offers high speed capturing- Plug and play, no software needed – though there is available some if you like to – windows 10 detect it as a webcam and works great with OBS if you want to stream your gaming or so- In simple use is really snappy and fast. The processor obviously makes much better job than the cheap usb to hdmi convertersCons:- No 4K support, even the 1080 which is claiming seems to be upscaled 720 I would say- The capture chip seems to struggle a bit with the resolution, as a result sometimes might be a laggy or even flickery video, this due to lack of HDCP supportI hope you’ve found my review helpful, if so, click below. So my nephews seen this and thought we put it to the test. ..No I think they ment let's plug this in so we can laugh at out aunty as we know she is shocking on the games console....So they plugged it in and was basically as easy as plug and play.It recorded how extremely bad I was at playing but it doesn't just stop there. They can reply my embarrassing moments over and over again and show the whole family.I must say I was impressed with there take over when they showed me how it's really supose to be done.We have a brand new 4k TV and I don't know but the pictures didn't seam as clear as I thought. But that's my opinion they love it.I'm judt hopeing they can't put what the recorded onto the net as I'm sure they will find a way to embarrasse me more lol.But who care it family fun time. And this just added to there enjoyment.Something to do now we are back in lockdown...Stay safe everyone xxx

PREMESSA:Sembra passato un secolo dalla certosina acquisizione video che feci agli inizi degli anni 2000 per preservare le mie vecchie VHS dall’avvento del DVD, il tempo passa ed anche il DVD, il BD ed i supporti ottici in genere si sono pensionati da soli o stanno progressivamente scomparendo lasciando lo spazio allo streaming e ai file digitali con mia somma gioia ed in meno tempo delle VHS e del sistema analogico. Con la fine di uno standard scompare anche la tecnologia di utilizzo di quello standard e diventa sempre più difficile reperire gli strumenti necessari per acquisire un video specie in un’epoca in cui si fa tutto online. In campo audio c’è stato invece un’inversione totale con il ritorno di fiamma del vinile, sicuramente dal suono più caldo, meno comodo ed immediato dell’ascolto digitale, ma dal fascino unico ed inconfondibile, chissà se un domani avverrà anche per la comodità che avevano le VHS in ambito di versatilità di registrazione. La qualità video purtroppo non è la stessa cosa del vinile e dubito che si potrà mai ritornare ai sistemi analogici sull’acquisizione video attraverso i comuni videoregistratori. Standard come SCART, S-RGB, hanno lasciato definitivamente il posto al ben più versatile HDMi e per adesso anche se attraverso vari aggiornamenti subiti in pochissimo tempo, rimane lo standard attuale. Oggi parlo di un sistema di cattura video digitale proposto da FORWARD VIDEO TECHNOLOGY Co., il DRIVER GENIUS, un piccolo grabber digitale di cattura audio/video attraverso porta HDMi in presa diretta, molto utile per registrare filmati, sessioni di gioco o segnali in transito del cavo HDMi per riversarli in digitale direttamente su PC attraverso software dedicato scaricabile dal sito del produttore.Vediamo in dettaglio quello che su amazon viene presentato come: ‘’DriverGenius Game Capture HD/Box Scheda Acquisizione Video HDMI 1080P @ 30fps - Video Grabber HDMI - HDMI Registratore in Gioco Capture per Xbox/360 & PS4/Wii U’’Non mi stupirò mai di capire i titoli delle inserzioni dei prodotti di importazione cinese ed ho imparato ad accettarli per come sono scritti, anche se sarebbe più utile avere un modello ed una marca solida poiché per ciò che concerne l’import cinese non si ha mai garanzia e certezza che un prodotto rimanga stabile sul mercato sia per estetica, sia per assistenza, sia per reperibilità.PRIMO IMPATTO:Molto compatto e lineare. Una confezione piuttosto piccola e compatta, ma ben calibrata per il prodotto al suo interno. Il Driver Genius scheda di acquisizione è contenuto nella confezione assieme al cavo di collegamento al PC USB3.0. Nessun altro accessorio è presente poiché c’è già tutto il necessario che serve per la cattura video. Apparecchio molto compatto e lineare dal peso ridotto che può essere collocato ovunque.DESCRIZIONE PRODOTTO:Il Driver Genius di ‎Forward Video Technology Co. è un piccolo sistema di acquisizione video compatto e leggero che serve a catturare direttamente sul PC con codifica h264 filmati o spezzoni video che passano attraverso l’ingresso HDMi 1.4 o superiore connesso in ingresso al ricevitore. Le sue misure sono di 16x102x62mm con un peso complessivo di 97 grammi. All’interno del package sono presenti il video grabber capture Driver Genius ed il cavo USB 3.0 di collegamento al PC lungo circa 50 cm. Assieme a questi due componenti è presente un piccolo manuale d’uso esclusivamente in lingua inglese e con a corredo un QR code per scaricare dal sito il software dedicato alla cattura video. Il sistema è pienamente compatibile con Windows 8.0 o sistemi operativi superiori quindi windows 10 e successivi aggiornamenti. Compatibilità anche con sistema Mac OS 10.12 o superiore. Ho provato a testare il prodotto con sistemi differenti e non risulta compatibile il software di acquisizione, mentre l’hardware viene riconosciuto. Perfetto per la cattura video di sessioni di gioco anche se il suo massimo refresh arriva a 30 Hz. L’utilizzo è veramente semplice, è sufficiente collegare l’ingresso video con il cavo HDMi nella porta IN e collegare l’uscita OUT ad un qualsiasi monitor attraverso l’ingresso HDMi dedicato; tutto quello che entra in ingresso, audio compreso, viene codificato in tempo reale e decodificato in uscita attraverso porta USB3.0 che attraverso il software consente la cattura video in formato massimo a 1080x1920p a 30Hz.CONCLUSIONI:Il prezzo per il prodotto non è dei più economici, esistono grabber HDMi digitali che costano meno e che permettono acquisizioni a qualità superiore. Tutto sommato questo piccola scheda di acquisizione è molto stabile e fa quello che promette, però la sua massima risoluzione di cattura è un Full HD a 1080p e non certo un 4K. è possibile acquisire un segnale 4K, ma la sua cattura sarà limitata a full HD anche perché non è possibile con una porta USB 3.0 andare a flussi video superiori oltre che avere alimentazione sempre dalla stessa. La codifica è fluida, non si perdono dettagli, ma anche se supporta fino ad un massimo di 3840x2160p in ingresso, il limite in uscita rimane un full HD a 1080. Compatibile con i sistemi operativi più recenti, dispone di un software dedicato e scaricabile inoltre ha la possibilità di catturare l’audio in formato LPCM sorgente a 48 Khz. Funziona discretamente bene, ma quando si sale troppo con i Framerate di una scheda video che lo consente, la cattura perde qualche fotogramma e tende a scattare, ma questo accade solo con alti Framerate, cosa che non ho notato su sistemi consolle come PS3 o PS4, soltanto su PC. I colori di cattura sono abbastanza vividi e fedeli al flusso video originale anche se a mio avviso tende ad esaltare il rosso, segnalo l’assenza in dotazione di cavi HDMi per il collegamento. Ich Streme mit 2 PCs.Gaming Rechner: Windows 10 Pro 64BitStreaming Rechner: iMac 27 Late 2017Bei Amazon gibt es viele Capture Card für den Mac, wenn man sich jedoch die Fotos einiger Produkte genauer anschaut, fällt einem sofort die verblüffende Ähnlichkeit mit diesem Produkt auf.Zum Review:Beim entpacken fällt es sofort auf, dass das Produkt nur wenige Gramms wiegt. Das kam mir schon komisch vor, da ich die Avermedia GC550 besitze und die bei weitem mehr wiegt.Alles angeschlossen und von OBS(Open Broadcaster Software) wurde die Capture Card sofort erkannt ohne zusätzliche Treiber, allerding sehr schwammig und verpixelt. Zuerst dachte ich, dass ich die Treiber etc. installieren muss. Es gibt keine Treiber für das Produkt, zudem verfügt es über keine Software. In der mitgeliefertern CD ist nur ein Medienplayer (Software: Potplayer) vorhanden.Die Farbdarstellung ist schlecht. Zu wenig Kontrast, dafür viel Farbton. En el apartado funcional la capturadora funciona exactamente con se espera, se conecta por usb y es reconocida automáticamente. El pack no trae instrucciones pero creo que tampoco las necesita.Mediante un programa como Obs podemos jugar con el vídeo con un pequeño retardo.La calidad máxima que ofrece es de 1080p en formato de vídeo comprimido, no hay opción de mayor resolución.Como índico, funciona correctamente y no se calienta, pero por este precio tenemos otros modelos que ofrecen resoluciones 4k.Puedes conectar una video consola al pc y reproducir streaming en directo o una cámara de fotos y utilizarla como webcam.
