a worthy read
This has more depth than what my experience suggests to me is the typical relative shallowness of a 'devotional'. Each chapter has 3 parts: opens with a doctrinal statement about the attribute of God addressed by the chapter, unpacking (elaborating upon) the doctrine & ending with application to living the Christian life. Well done for what the author bills a devotional.I prefer works intended as the product of research & scholarship. Not because I presume to be an intellectual; rather, because I want to expand my understanding of whatever subject I'm exploring. Devotionals (admittedly few) to which I've exposed myself don't do that for me (which is why I've read so few).I've read & heard teaching on the doctrine of God that goes considerably deeper than Jones does in this book. But he intends this as a devotional & certainly it can be used productively as such. And kudos to the author for producing something far better than a standard issue devotional in the process. And more, it's thoroughly grounded in, saturated with Scripture & the scholarship of more than a few other students of & critical thinkers about the living God & His Word.

God is .. so good and kind and merciful...
...To give His dear children a marvelous book about the living and triune God, our Heavenly Father in Christ. By God's good grace and the power of His Spirit, my mind and heart were filled up with holy sweetness. Let us get more of God in our thoughts! "For from Him, and through Him, and for Him are all things..." (Rom. 11:36). This book is useful for all believers to aid in this important daily work. This book contains clear, Christ-saturated, Holy-Spirit-filled, pastoral and practical meditations on the attributes of God. As a pastor, I have already observed more of God's attributes filling my mind (cf. Eph. 3:17-19), and manifesting themselves in my faith and public and private prayers. Thank you, Pastor Jones (again!) for another God-glorifying book! This is not only a great book for meditations on God's attributes but it is stuffed with with wisdom and passion of our faithful fathers! Would be ideal for small group Bible studies. I have already given a few of these away as gifts!

A Month of God’s Attributes
This is an excellent book on the attributes of God, quoting heavily from the Puritans. It is 26 short chapters which each contain three sections: doctrine, how it relates to Christ, and application. It is perfectly designed to be read during one’s daily devotions. I think this book would make the most impact on someone who were to read one chapter a day for a month.

Good basic introduction to theology proper
Mark Jones is sound theologically, to say the least. His Knowing Jesus was good, and his work on Antinomianism was excellent. This is good, some chapters are better than others. It just seems a little dry in spots, lacking warmth. It draw heavily on the Puritans, as one would expect, but they had more warmth in their writings than this does. I had read Packer's Knowing God 35 years ago and thought that was excellent for purity of doctrine and warmth of devotion. Anslem is much warmer in spirit than this. That is my only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

I highly recommend this book
Not since J.I. Packer's "Knowing God" have I been more edified and challenged with the "attributes" of God than I was with Mark Jones book.I highly recommend this book.

This book is such a delight--I am thoroughly enjoying its presentation of a high and holy God. My prayer is that I can find enough people to whom to give this book who will actually really read.

Straight to the point
Great and refreshing read. Each chapter is just short enough to keep from overwhelming, but substantive enough to be worth your time and keep you coming back for more. I recommend.

I love this book
I really love this book. It's easy to read and full of profound reflections on who God is. I particularly love the way each chapter is divided into three - the doctrine, how it applies to Jesus, and application. This book has become an invaluable resource as part of my times with the Lord.

and Confessions like the Westminster and the Heidelberg
This is a book that deserves a second or even a third read. It is packed with information and references to the Bible, the Puritans, and Confessions like the Westminster and the Heidelberg. Each chapter is divided into 3 sections: Doctrine, Jesus Christ, and Application. It reveals who God is in His attributes and how we benefit from a deeper understanding of God. Highly recommended if you like a book with substance.
