Fulton Birdcage 1 Umbrella

I am so pleased I chose this umbrella, so many to choose from, it is exceptional quality for the price. It is strong, robust and very effective in windy weather, won’t blow inside out. It has a nice big dome so you have plenty of visibility keeping you sung and dry. I recommend it to anyone who likes the dome shape rather than the more flat version.

Great quality umbrella and the transparency means that you can put yourself into a little cocoon and protect yourself from the rain whilst still seeing ahead of you. It is a good quality and on the heavier side of an umbrella

I bought this for £11.23 on 25 October 2025 - I think it must have been on offer. Currently it is £24.93 on 3/2/26. It is well made, lovely and strong feeling, operates smoothly, and has a nice clear cover. So far it has been very good, no signs of weakness, so hopefully that will continue. It hasn't been used in any strong winds, but I see no reason why it wouldn't be fine in such weather. Definitely worth the price I paid, but for £25? Probably, but time will tell. The only downside is that it doesn't collapse. But that is obvious, so you just need to realise that before buying it.

Really well made umbrella. Survives walking in a storm and you can hold it lower due to the transparent material. Strong enough to resist storms.

I carefully selected this umbrella, going for quality as well as good looks and I chose this one as it claimed it was exceptionally well made and because of its generous size. It arrived in perfect order. I had read that it would be covered in a coating of powder to stop the folds of plastic sticking together, which was true. I washed it off - unless you want to use a powder-covered umbrella, you have to. It looked beautiful. I tested it out and it felt very robust and worked efficiently. However after only one use (a rainy wedding) where I lent it to another guest, it broke! Several of the metal arms have broken at their joints or twisted so badly that even if you get the umbrella open, it is so wonky in shape it is useless. i have had to throw it away. A complete waste of money. The cause of the breakage can be one of two faults; either it was badly made in the first place, but it looked OK when i first tested it; or it was damaged in trying to open it up - lack of appreciation by a "novice user" that you have to spend a good ten minutes teasing apart the inevitably stuck together folds of plastic when the umbrella has been folded down - the plastic sticks incredibly to itself, like cling film, or worse, and takes quite a bit of patience and gentle encouragement to unstick the folds to allow you to open the umbrella out. I would imagine that if you simply push the umbrella open in the normal fashion, the metal arms will simply crumple under the force as the plastic simply doest budge. Useless in a sudden downpour. I cannot see how this umbrella can be sold when it takes such an effort to open it up, and clearly just one use by someone who didn't know the pitfalls has rendered it useless. I'm very disappointed and consider it a complete waste of money.

Brilliant umbrella. Allows you to see where you're going whilst helping to protect your head & hair from the rain. Sturdy design.

I got this for the misses to watch rugby it perfect. Crystal clear So keeps her dry as she watches the kids play rugby. Easy to open and close. Light wight. Really thick plastic

I was originally very happy with this purchase, the umbrella wraps around you protecting from getting wet and is transparent so still allows you to clearly see where you are going. However, it was not able to survive a wind and rain storm as well as I would have liked - one of the rods snapped and the umbrella is now barely holding it together, less than a year after it was purchased. I don't think there is any umbrella that is sturdy enough to withstand a UK storm sadly.

wirklich ein sehr schöner schirm. ich freue mich darauf ihn ausführen zu dürfen. zur qualität möchte ich sagen, das die von allen so hoch gelobt wurde, kann ich nicht verstehen. sicher, der schirm hat eine gute qualität aber das ist das mindeste, was ich für diesen preis erwarte. für mich eine selbstverständlichkeit. auf jedenfall ist der schirm empfehlensert, sieht gut aus und optimaler schutz bei regen volle punktzahl

I bought 4 of these from Amazon and they arrived in excellent condition. It's important to keep the powder on them to avoid the plastic stiking to itself if not used for a while. Good quality and not fragile. I only put 4 stars as plastic umbrellas like plastic raincoats don't last for ever. However, if you want to see where you're going in a downpour and keep your hair dry these are really useful.

Quanto alla comodità non posso pronunciarmi, perché ho avuto sempre e solo ombrelli pieghevoli, mentre questo è il primo ombrello di questo tipo che acquisto. L'ho scelto per la forma, che trovo deliziosa ed elegante, e che ho scoperto proteggere molto meglio dalla pioggia. Ma in seguito ho avuto modo di apprezzarne anche la fluidità di apertura e la robustezza. Davvero un ottimo acquisto.

I was looking to buy the Hunter brand birdcage umbrella but they were out of stock. This came up and since I like the color, bought it. All of those that have seen me used it (female and male) declare it is so nice and functional. Actually, the word they used was 'pretty'. I promise you that is it not only pretty, but protects your head from the drenching rain WHILE allowing you to see around you without getting wet. Why, because the clear top allows you to do that, no obstruction like the other umbrellas you know of. I am now 54 years old, and I think I have found the umbrella I need that fulfills 3 things: stylish, functional and heads turn when I use it.
