Loved it!!
I love this book, the Hemmingway style short blunt way of writing took a few pages to ease into but I found his honesty really made the book. I was fascinated by everything he did, and how it all meshed together to make the author we are reading....may make you think your life is pretty boring by comparison. Also, it does really make you want to try a bull run, be warned :)

One of the few times I have read a book ...
One of the few times I have read a book from cover to cover in 24hrs. Caught me on the first page. It's a pleasure to run with the author. Till the next time.

The jury is stil out
Difficult to know what to make of this book. The author compares Pamplona to the Mardi Gras but without the violence of New Orleans but in the next breath describes street fights in which he stamps on the head of an antagonist. In the early parts of the book this violence features largely but is off set by the description of running with the bulls. It is often disturbing but honestly written and of interest to anyone who knows of Pamplona, Hemingway and above all - the bulls. Some reviews state that it made them want to run with the bulls but for me it did the opposite and left me inclined to keep well away from Pamplona during San Fermin. However, I would recommend it as a certain view on the festival in the belief that “it Takes all sorts.” Eventually running with the bulls seems to be a turning point in the life of Bill Hillmann and that is encouraging and deserves to be applauded. Also for anyone interested in Spain and the bulls it deserves a place on the book shelf.
