Candy bar molds
Made wax melts in these for the first time today. So much better and easier to use than the square cube molds. Pouring was easier and clean up was way easier and fast.

Sturdy but impossible to clean
So, I bought this with the intention of switching to a more eco-friendly option, ie; instead of clamshells, using this snap mold and packaging melts in glassine, butcher paper, or compostable wrap. I love the idea, and the mold is very sturdy and was a great deal at $10 for two molds, which each make 6 snap bars around 2 oz. For me, who is more a soap maker and only does melts as an add on, this size/amount would be perfect.Being a soap maker, i have plenty of flimsy molds I bought that are a pain in the butt to clean. Thin silicone flops around like a dead fish, especially for the recommended hand washing, and I usually have to set thinner molds on a cutting board for some support. These are not that! They are sturdy, relatively thick, and feel like they'll last a while. However, they were impossible to clean. It could be me! I'm not an expert chandler, just a decently knowledged enthusiast. I use my own proprietary blend due to family allergies, which consists of a coconut apricot container wax blended with a firmer pillar-type paraffin. They're solid enough to easily slip out of my wax melt containers, both clamshell and the warmer cup, but they stick to this mold quite a bit, and leave A LOT of residue behind. I hand washed this twice, and them the third time, I scrubbed the grooves with a literal toothbrush. It still had waxy, frosted residue. Finally my SO went at it with the scrubby side of a new sponge (I prefer washable dish cloths with a netted scrubby side). That mostly did the trick. There's still some residue in the grooves, but since I'm still in the testing and family freebie stage, I'm just gonna wing it and try the mold again and see of the residue/stains effect the product.
