Wind, Sand and Stars (Pocket Penguins) Paperback – International Edition, February 28, 2017

A classic collection of stories. This book is inspiring in so many ways that I have given away 2 copies to friends. I promised myself I wouldn't give this one away! I'm keeping it for myself. The story called "The Men" is my favorite. It tells of an airman named Guillaumet who crashes in a remote, snowcoved crag in the Andes Mountains. Guillaumet's struggle first to survive, and finally just to be found is the pinnacle of human endurance and strength. In all of the stories in this book, I feel as if I were there in person with the main characters, experiencing the joys and difficulties firsthand. I highly recommend this book.

For a book written in 1939 it is pretty relevant to today's pilots. Anyone who appreciates a rather romantic view of the world will also like the writing style. For history buffs, this is a priceless glimpse into the bygone days of aviation in it's infancy.

A terrific adventure story and amazing to believe humans have done of some these things we have done. Highly recommend!

Good to read on the way because is very light and small. And you will not feel bored.

A magic read

It is my preferred book after an other one of Antoine de Saint Exupery. I bought it fora friend, I wanted her to discover, in english, the best of the French literature and human heritage !
