Always Keep The Grinder and Handle Together
This is an add on to my first review which I used this device as a pepper mill. I bought another one of these devices to use as a coffee grinder. In this case the grinder performed very well and produced similar results as when I used it as a pepper mill. The coffee grinder ranged from very fine to coarse and again it didn't take a lot of turning to produce a decent amount of coffee grounds. As in my first review this coffee grinder works very well, and I am pleased with the results that it gives me.I do a lot of cooking both privately and professionally, so this device works verry well for me as a salt and pepper mill. This coffee grinder works very well and grinds pepper very fast. I was originally looking for an electric one but then decided on a manual grinder because I didn't want to be reliant on electricity. I like that it is easily adjustable from coarse to fine pepper and in a few turns, it is able to produce a decent amount of ground pepper. I thought I would have to turn this thing a lot more than just a few turns to get a decent amount of ground pepper but that is not the case. Perhaps the grinder is working so well because it's new and after some time it will loose it grinding quality but only time will tell. One thing you may need to get use to is making sure to keep the grinding handle and the grinder together because without the handle you may find yourself stuck unless you can improvise a way to turn the grinder. Right now I'm very happy with this product.

Cheaper than Electric & good Exercise
At 1st I thought the grinding space for whole beans was small. After averaging 5 to 7 minutes to grind up that amount, I understand. In my image I've placed a 1 tbsp & 1/3 cup measuring cups. The capacity of whole beans is right at 1/3 a cup per grind. You need to really hang on the the grinder base with your free hand, in order to crank the handle fast & consistently. If you buy your whole beans in 5 lb bags, I suggest you only grind enough for several pots of coffee at one setting. It is half the cost of most electric grinders & it's a great upper body workout. I like it.

It works but itโs a lot of work to pick the fine course grade
Set up was to hard to pick fine to course gradeThere other options for the same price or less that probably work better with less effort

Works as described
This product definitely works as described. It's a little difficult to get whole beans into the small opening at the top without spilling any. This works in a pinch, but I would recommend a grinder with a bigger top opening for people with motor control challenges and a higher capacity grinder in general for anyone using a traditional coffee pot (but it's fine for pour over for one).
