Cheap way to add a fence to prevent aggressive dog behavior and provide a little privacy!
I was in desperate need to block my neighbor 85lbs dog view through the chainlink fence we share because as a renter she refused to. In addition to, ordering the bamboo reel I also ordered black privacy mesh from Amazon to add first to the chainlink fence to prevent her dog from looking though then I added the bamboo reel in the area where the fence fighting, aggression, and indoor window harassment was happening.I was pleasantly pleased and surprised at the height, the length, and the sturdiness. I had to get creative with attaching the bamboo reel to the fence since I had already placed the privacy mesh on the chainlink fence. However, not only has the bamboo blocked the dog's view but it has also blocked my neighbor view into my backyard and patio. Now I want to add additional bamboo reel panels along the entire fence for more privacy as well as providing my backyard a retro look. My dogs love it, they feel more comfortable in our backyard, and so far it has stopped my neighbor's aggressive dog and his behavior since he cannot see out into my yard through their windows or through the fence.I would recommend for cheap fencing or to add to a problem area in your backyard.

Not disappointed... good buy!
You can't beat the price! I bought these at the beginning of the 2015 summer. I used them to create a privacy screen between my yard and the street. The climbing vines and flowers I planted at the base took care of the fact that you could very much see through them. They withstood high coastal winds, rain, sun and right now are being tested against the Maine winter. When installing these get a helper... trying to do it yourself will cause you much grief (it will be crooked and not tight enough), If I end up buying more bamboo fencing for next spring, I will allow about 2" off the ground as to allow for my trimmer--weed whacker--to reach tight areas without damaging the fence. I will also try to spend a bit more money to get the wider size of each "reed" with less space between each one of them. The photo they show is a close-up that misled me to believe that they were wide slices of the bamboo... they actually measure about half an inch each and are not as tightly tied against each other...In summary, I'm not disappointed by this purchase because it did create the environment of privacy I was looking for... They also served as a rather inexpensive try-out that gave me a starting point for next season...By the way, I did not buy these the first time I looked at them ($$) but then Amazon sent me an e-mail a few weeks later letting me know that the price had gone down... Kudos to Amazon!

Color not consistent; bamboo slats slide down without a proper base.
I bought about six panels. On one of them, the color was off. It looked like it had black mold on it (see photos. The one on the left is how they're supposed to look. The one on the right had dark streaks). After I rec'd them, I waited a couple of weeks before inspecting, so according to the manufacturer's enclosed paperwork, I missed the short window to return the bad one. Also, the individual bamboo slats aren't connected to the the wiring that holds them all together. They're just sitting in place. The sections need to sit on a base, otherwise the individual slats fall through. There's also space between the slats, make the panels "see-through". Luckily, we placed the panels over an existing brown lattice fence to minimize the "see-through effect.

Slats are not as sturdy or as densely packed as they appear in the picture.
Okay, but not nearly as substantial as it appears in the picture. The individual slats are much thinner and not as tightly packed together as they appear in the picture. Space between slats is as wide as the slats. Does not block view. You can easily see through it. Worked okay for me though.

Wide slats and curled in wet
This is a pretty nice product depending what you plan to use it for. Privacy isn't the ticket — the openings between the slats are pretty wide. You must make sure you have stanchions located probably every... not sure how many feet. I have it lashed to a deck railing and the reeds have bent with humidity. I'd say that in order to keep the fencing from curling, you'd want to have a stanchion every three feet or so. The wire is silver, so it really stands out. That's not very attractive if you are up close to it. However, I have trailing vinca vine that I have draped along it by hooks and that looks really nice — and I have hung some charms on it as well. If you decorate the fencing a bit, you won't notice the silver wire as much when you are up close.

Do your homework on this product
Ya not as wide which was disappointing , size was 6’6” x 13’ x 1”. Pic was misleading so definitely not buying for this company again !!!!! If I new it was only 1” wide never would’ve got it .... but it was a lesson learned.

Overpriced, but if properly placed, looks good and better than the round reed fencing
Seems like the cheapest you can get a roll of this stuff is $50, which is a little overpriced, but it's 6'6" high, while most other fencing of this sort is only 6' high. However, a roll of this stuff is only 13' long, so it will just take that much more if you need it for a long stretch. This looks best if installed tightly over a sturdy fence, such as chain link, and adds privacy much better than that round reed fencing, but this is not completely opaque.

The 6'6" by 13' is the correct size..just a little flimsy
It's as described. The height and length are what I ordered. A little flimsy and not dark at all like the picture. More like a light greenish and tan. I used tie wraps to secure it to a steel fence.

It’s sufficient
All these complaints?! For $100 what were you expecting?? I love mine.. I cut it in half on my chop saw, put it against an ugly chain link fence with holes that my dog would squeeze through. I ended up getting twice the length obviously and I’m only here writing this because I came back for another one. I was disappointed to see the big change in price.. last year I paid $84. This year it’s $127?? Ouch! I guess I’m not getting 2 more.

Privacy
The split bamboo fence worked well when zip strapped to the patio railing. It is a good privacy screen but I would choose bamboo rounds next time as it has to block a lot of wind as well, I will have to take it down in the fall because of weather conditions here.
