So Motivational
First, I am not sure how to explain this, but I felt as if the writer themselves was reading to me. It was like their voice was in my head. Each word was read with such enthusiasm and excitement! I felt so motivated! I have never had this experience; so this is definitely credit to a great writer.I began looking into these type of books to help my 90 year old mother. She is very weak, unsteady, and relies on a walker or a cane. This book really resonated with me as Mr. Case shares his mother’s physical condition and her successful journey. Thanks to her for inspiring him to write this book to help others begin their journey. I wish that I could say that I have had success with my mother, but she is very stubborn, and the word “exercise” might as well be a four letter word! I am hoping that when I move in to help her, that I can get her to do these exercises with me. Then we will both benefit. If she chooses not to, well then, I will not be like her when I am in my 90’s!Matthew shares his wealth of knowledge in a easy to read and understandable way. He covers many important topics including myths, mindset, and nutrition. (I really need this one. Not that I am on overeater, I need to learn to eat better foods, I was not raised that way.) Don’t skip over these parts to rush to the exercise, they are all part of the program and necessary for success. Besides, as I said, the way that Matthew writes, you will not be bored!Once you get to the exercises, his instructions are clear and east to follow. I like that there are simple drawings included, rather than some unrealistic model that I can’t relate to. There are many exercises listed, and you may feel overwhelmed by them all, but the one thing that this book has, that I have not seen in others, is actual workouts that you can follow. That way you don’t have to figure out that part for yourself.I sincerely enjoyed this book (And it’s a exercise book!) and can’t wait to begin my journey. I think that you will feel that same!

A must-read if you want to stay mobile, healthy, and strong!
I'll start off by saying I highly recommend. I have been working out with some lifting for a short time, but this book explained how important it is and why it is important. It also gave me hope that I had not started too late! The book explains the benefits of strength training in a way that is easy to understand and also explains how to get started. The author also goes into the importance of nutrition which I think so many people underestimate. Yes, we know we should eat healthy, but the author explains why, what we may need, and also talks about the components of nutrition for older adults. The importance of stretching is emphasized which I will admit I did not always do.There is a chapter on the basic equipment you need and then the author dives into the exercises. They are explained fully and also have pictures showing good form. He also includes several workouts; including pain relief workouts which I have done daily.I truly believe this is an important book that will help us age gracefully and strong!

Good basic information
I'm 76, and I go to the YMCA 4 to 5 times a week. I'm not generally a group class person, but I have friends who are. The kinds of exercises mentioned in the book are similar to what is taught in some of the classes directed at "seniors." So,from my experience and that of friends taking classes, Matthew's content is current and useful. There is one thing I'd like to mention. It takes a special person to do what's recommended in this book by yourself. There are "classes" for seniors all over the place - the Y, gyms, churches, senior centers, etc.. Do yourself a favor, read this book to understand what you're getting into, and then do these activities in a public space in the midst of other people. Even though I don't like classes, it is good fun to socialize with people your own age who are "working out." At my Y, there are exercisers with "Walkers," with cane's, and some with Wheelchairs. Everyone is welcome.Appreciate the book, and best of luck to all it's readers.

A Great Manual for Living Better in your final 3rd!
This book is VERY thorough! I have been a fitness instructor, body builder (in my 30s) nutrition buff (still am) and very physically active all my life, so I knew most of what is in the first part of the book (and live it for the most part) and I think it covers everything people need to live a healthier more active life. Now in my late 60s, it's more important than ever to take a wholistic approach to living our best life, and keep the strength up! This book should be on everyone's shelf. It should be used as a manual, to keep referring back as new challenges arise. You will never NOT need the information in this book. Editing to add some pictures now that I also have the paperback edition as well as the digital. Turns out my core wasn't quite as strong as it could be......and my upper back and arms are enjoying the fruits of this book more than I expected also!!! Come on.....get a nice matt, get out the chair (yes, there are sitting down exercises!), get some little dumbells (or just go through the movements without them) and get STRONGER!

Just What I Needed!
It is depressing to one day find yourself part of the aging population, complaining about your aches and pains and limitations, realizing you should have paid more attention to your health and made more time for exercise long before now!As one who has always felt intimidated by gyms and “working out”, I am happy to find a motivating, easy-to-follow guide to becoming a healthier, more fit senior. While this book includes excellent information about improving your health, the best part for me are the illustrated, easy-to-follow exercise plans that I can do at home, at my own pace, without a gym membership or purchasing expensive equipment (that probably would not be used, anyway!).Thank you, Matthew Case! This book may just be the jumpstart I need to recoup some of the strength and flexibility I have lost and to get serious about a healthier, more active lifestyle. Who knows – I may even learn to enjoy exercising!

Brilliant guide for taking care of yourself, lots of practical tools and techniques you can implement straight away. I like the way the author has made it simple and not complex. It’s very important subject if you want to be healthy and fit. I spend most evenings stretching and following these tips and have seen an improvement in my posture. Highly recommend !
