Another enjoyable read by this author :)
I have read every single one of the Eve Duncan books so far, and thoroughly enjoyed them. This one fell a little bit flat for me, although I am not sure why exactly. For the first third of the book, there were a lot of references to past books so I kind of skimmed past those bits, it really did go on a bit long. On the other hand, I felt like there were some gaps in the story as well, things that weren't explained, so all in all it wasn't the smooth reading experience that most of these books are.Having said all that, nothing takes away from the fact that Iris Johansen is an amazing writer and her female characters in particular are strong, gutsy women who get things done. Seth Caleb makes a return visit in this book and his interactions with Jane in particular are complex and interesting to say the least. There is usually a sensual element in these books, which I enjoy. All in all, a good read and I am already looking forward to the next book :)

and love the characters share
Just what I needed to get out of my reading slump, an afternoon spent with these characters I know so well and totally adore. For long time readers, this is the book you've been waiting for. The usual romance, danger, and deadly skills mixed with some surprising revelations and such a satisfying ending. So much of the book's effect is in the build up of history, the deep and often complicated relationships between the characters, and the ways in which they all come together in this instalment. As always, perils abound, but the reason I come back to this series is the rosy warmth given by the everlasting family bonds, friendships, and love the characters share. It might be unrealistic at times (most of the time), but who cares? Sometimes you just need the kind of boost this book provides.Plus, who wouldn't want some of these fun 'talents' Johansen's people always display. I could do with a bit of Seth Caleb's skill, that's for sure...ARC via Netgalley.

Good
I would like to thank Netgalley and St Martin's Press for an advance copy of Mind Game, the 22nd novel to feature forensic artist Eve Duncan and her family.Eve's daughter is going back to Scotland to help in the search for hidden Celtic gold that she and her friends have been searching for but she is troubled by psychic messages she has been receiving from an unknown woman she calls Lisa, a woman who is in grave danger. She teams up with the mysterious Seth Caleb, a dangerous man who has been pursuing her for years, to help Lisa.I thoroughly enjoyed Mind Game which is a rattling good read with plenty of action, weird supernatural aspects and a dash of romance. I must admit that I found the supernatural elements of the novel, Caleb's ability to control the blood flow in other people, psychic connections and Jane's dreams of Celtic queen Cira, extremely difficult to swallow but as the novel hinges on them I went with the flow. The plot is well thought out, especially the ending, and it had me hooked as I kept turning the pages to find out what was coming next. Like all good thrillers the protagonists do a bit of globetrotting so luckily Caleb has a private jet. I don't think you get much sense of the locations but the action makes up for it. I loved the solution in Dubai which is the elegant resolution of a difficult problem.Eve takes a backseat in this novel as it is all about Jane who is smart, feisty and psychic. She is close to her adopted parents, Eve and Joe, and would do anything for them. The emphasis on their closeness and family love is a bit cloying at times as it is mentioned constantly. In sharp contrast Seth Caleb is a solitary loner with a sarcastic edge, like a Mills and Boon hero with extra skills!Mind Game is a good read which held my attention throughout so I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Absolutely fantastic read.
Mind game by Iris Johansen.Wow this was a page turner. It was great to see janes character in the front seat and it was nice to see eve still around. Jane has been plagued by dreams of a girl she has never met before only she feels as though she knows her. She draws scenes of what she has seen in her dreams. Who is this girl? What is she trying to tell jane? I loved the supernatural side of the story. Aswell as the danger side too. I couldnt put this down read in two settings. This is a must read and I would highly recommend this book. 5*. Netgalley and st martin's press.

Mind Game
"It was people who cared and went the extra mile for me."This line in the book pretty much sums up what the whole story is about, people who care and are willing to go the extra mile for each other. This book was as all the other fast paced jam packed full of action.I loved reading it and look forward to the next book in the series.Thank you to St. Martin's Press via Netgalley for the copy. You have all the good books/writers!!!
